.40 S&W did not make the cut because I have 9x19 and .45 ACP as well as 10mm (revolver). Thus, .40 S&W has nothing additional to offer me. Nothing against the caliber; it just did not do anything that my other calibers could not do. Of course, all of my surviving autos are single-stacks; people who shoot double-stacks may find that the .40 S&W works well for them.
