I have the Lee anniversery I have been using for a few years and just got a Lee pro 1000 that I use only for my 45LC. Still use my single stage for 45-70, 30-30. Lee fit my budget and works great for me. Bob
I've had other presses before, and ten years ago my wife bought me a 550B for Christmas.
I crank out 10-15000 rounds a year in it, mostly handgun cartridges. The press is a wonderful time saver, produces high quality ammo, and the tech support guys on Dillon's hotline are top notch.
The few times I've called Dillon they've come through big time, professional advice (on something I didn't do property because I hate to read manuals). On the couple of occasions I've wrecked a small part (my fault) they've cheerfully sent me a replacement part, no charge. When they say "No-BS Warranty," they stand behind it.
I'm 100% happy with my rig and wouldn't want anything else.
===But, I'm not prejudiced. I have an RC too, and some other blue press in storage, (not a Dillon). I can't remember what kind the blue one is. Haven't used it in quite some time.=== Might be an old Pacific, which is now Hornady. My main one is a 650, but the one that has been seeing the must use latly is a litte Lee C prees, it is setup with a universal decaping die, and this is the one I use when prossesing range pickup .223.
I have two Lyman AA presses about 40 yrs old,& still producing 1000 plus per week.one set up for 38spec the other 9mm.Also a Lee Turret Press about 12 yrs old which I load obsolete handgun ammo on.Always use Lyman & Lee dies,& am well pleased with the results. Must admit though if I wasnt in my middle 70s I would like a Dillon XL 650.
I use my Dillon 550B for most of my pistol reloading which is about 80% of all my reloading and shooting. When I am working up a load for one of my rifles I use my old RCBS Rockchucker. The only rifle ammo I load on the Dillon is 223 for my AR or Mini-14.
I would not part with either press since they both serve me very well. I have given thought to a turret press but realize that I get along just fine with my Dillon and RCBS presses. I'll save that money for components!
Dillon 550b for pistol loads, and me ol' RCBS Special 2 single stage O frame, since 1982, for rifle loads and .223 case prep. Unless of course there's a small lot I want to reload, then it's just the Special 2 as it is so quick to set up.
i couldn't vote.... my main press is an antique... it's an old bair press ... a good old solid cast precise c-press from nebraska..... i think they are now owned by hornady.... i use it in conjunction with my lee reloader press and i like both!!
