what bullet pullers do you use?

Collets. Of all, are the worst of all.
Can be. But when they work, they are great. You really need more than one option. Collet puller, hammer, Wire cutter, pipe cutter. I have had those times where a collet puller just aint it.

I had some of the same problem with the collet not releasing the bullet. I took the die apart. Using 1000 grit sandpaper, I polished the inside of the die body and the outside of the collet. I then put a very thin coat of synthetic lube inside the die body. This solved most of the bullet release issues.

My experience with a Hornady collet is that if the collet doesn't release the bullet, I have something wrong and need to readjust my setup.

Another vote for the Hornady collet. Only problems with it is it needs some bullet shank showing to get a hold of and even then it has a tendency to mess up soft match bullets. I keep a hammer style on hand as backup. I keep a pair of pliers on hand as a backup to the backup.

I have the Hornady... works like a charm with 9mm, .223, and .308.

However, it (or perhaps me) is worthless with my .45ACP 230gr LRN and 200gr LSWC. The collet won't get a grip on either bullet.
I also have the Hornady, had trouble getting grip on bullets for 9mm, .357, .45acp and .45 colt. Finally broke the collet for .45 colt and bought a replacement . Waste of money for me, should have just stayed with kinetic hammer from the beginning for all of them.
