What caliber do you load the most for and why?

1) .223, because I have a teenager with an AR.
2) .380, cost of factory ammo.
3) .38 Special, same as .380.
4) 6.5x55, because most factory ammo is under loaded
and what isn't is pretty expensive.

The .44Mag by a fair margin. I load them by the bucketful on a Dillon 650. Followed by the .44Spl, .38Spl, .44Colt and .45Colt. When I get my new loading room built, I need to add dedicated Dillon presses for .44Spl and .38Spl. Maybe .45Colt and .38-40 later on. Don't know about loading the thin-necked .38-40 on a progressive.

45ACP, because I haven't figured out how to load 22RF yet!
Not much 308 for me, I broke my wrist a few years back and I can't wrap it around a rifle or shotgun stock anymore.

For me, it's .357. It is not only because I and my sons own more firearms in it than any other caliber, but it is one of the most pleasant for us to shoot at the range, with .45ACP coming in a close second. The cost and ease of reloading for it also makes it more attractive than calibers taking a larger more expensive bullet or that are less forgiving.

.38 Special, because my wife and I both shoot that cartridge in cowboy action (two matches per month, 120-ish per shooter, per match, plus practice plus "extra" ammo I always bring in case a new shooter shows up).

.45 ACP is number two; gotta load that up for Wild Bunch Action Shooting.

.223 because I have an AR-15 and two bolt guns chambered for it, my son also has an AR, and the gophers/sage rats and coyotes deserve a humane end.
Next would be 9mm as my primary SD weapon is a Glock 19, and the Dillon is set up for it.
Next would be .357 Mag since there are 3 in the safe and I have probably loaded more of those over the years than anything else. I need to start using the Dillon again for those guys.
.45 ACP next because both my son and I have one.
The next are about even, .270WSM, .270 Win, 6.5x55 and .243 Win., not necessarily in that order.

I have been reloading plenty of .223 lately, since I finally ran out of the cheap steel cased russian ammo. I got a great deal on partial boxes of bullets a over a year ago, and most of it was speer .223 soft points and fmj.

I do have over 400 30-06 cases prepared and primed, just waiting until I feel like shooting my Garands again. Although today I think I'll load up a couple hundred 9mm for this weekend when my niece comes over to shoot her AR and pistols.

Looking at my current spreadsheet, here are my top 3.

66,576 rounds of 38 Special.
22,286 rounds of 9mm
22,109 rounds of 10mm

It surprised me that the 9mm beat the 10mm. I would have thought it went the other way.

45acp the most, .223 after that.

Edit: I didn't put why, I shoot about 10-12,000 a year out of my 1911's. About 6,000 223's a year.

I don't currently reload but if I get a .458 SOCOM or .375 H&H Mag then I definitely will. I won't be paying $2-4 per round for cartridges with premium bullets.

Usually .45ACP/Colt & .308.

Currently it will be 9 Luger, only because that's what I have the most components for- and my old lady and son choots a lot of 'em. That's if I can find my SP safety primer... Ever know you have something, and you're sure you know where it is and then it isn't there!? :banghead:

.

What Caliber do I reload the most?
That would be .45.
I reload a number of different .45 caliber cartridges, the most volume for me is the .45 ACP. I also reload the .45 Colt as well as the 45-70 and the 577-450.
The .45 ACP is loaded for match shooting and practice. The others are for fun.
Second place goes to .223. I load two cartridges that are that caliber....the .223 Remington and the 5.7X28.
Third place is .30 caliber...the 30-06 Springfield, the .30-30 Winchester and the .30 Carbine.
A not too distant fourth place is .357, in the form of the .38 Special cartridge.
Very nearly the same numbers as .357 is the .429 caliber loaded into .44 Magnum cartridges.
Pete
PS - Caliber and cartridge are not the same thing.

223/5.56 - cause my AR likes to eat.

9mm - it's one of my carry guns and I practice alot

38 spl - it's the wifes carry gun and she likes to practice

357 mag - it's my other carry gun and again, I like to practice

9mm because its my everyday shooter
45 ACP because it is what I shoot the most of after 9mm
.44 MAG is a super versatile round loaded light to heavy
HMMMMM after that its a toss up between
45 Colt or .357

I load a lot, for me, in 25-06. Over 1,500 last year and it is new barrel time I am afraid.

I loaded about 800 8mm Mauser last year, and bout 500 7.62x54 for both Vepr and Finn M-39.

I love reloading I just wish powder did not remain such an issue.
