The 2nd model was an improved version with a better catch on the end of the loading lever. Earlier models (and the famed Walker) had an insecure catch that tended to drop the lever when fired. The 2nd model Dragoon fixed the problem.
I don't see the diamond with the fap or the U in the bore. I'll have to wait until it gets here nothing on the pictures I have that help.
The frame, barrel and cylinder all have the PN proof marks,
Great link BTW thanks.
The Dragoon arrived today and I've gone over this with a magnifying glass and it does not have a manufactures stamp on it, only thing it says is the Siles NY.
Removed the barrel and cylinder but nothing there, it looks like if this has been shot it was very little.
ASM pieces have recieved a reputation for soft internal parts. I have had a couple and usually end up replacing things like springs, hands and triggers. Nothing overly exciting except the ASM parts are getting few and far between. Other makers parts can be fit but that takes a little more work.
By and large, they were okay pieces and your Dragoon looks nice enough.
