Hunting is of one of lifes greatest blessings. I have been spending every other weekend with my son at our lease near Mason, TX. This my be my favorite spot in all the world. Smoking a Cohiba, talking with my 9 year old, surveying this years deer crop, and waiting for the pigs to come to water.

Let's see some hunting pics.

These times do not last long.

Amen. A lesson I have hopefully learned early enough. I started a business 7 years ago, and the first two years of that adventure I spent ZERO time at at home. I see my son's toddler years in videos, but I have no memory of it. My daughter is 13, and I missed her most inquisitive years. Never again will I allow my priorities to get that out of whack.

What did I get for all that hard work? I sold the business. Broke even. Two waisted years.

I was just "fun" shooting last weekend... These are what i was shooting, (actually i had 3 with me)

I was tradeing off with my brother and two nephues, and they loved the Henrys!

Shot pictures of deer and scenery mostly while out scouting my girlfriend's unit. Couldn't get my camera up quick enough for the real big guys, but had a great time. Then I took her up to the Flat Tops just to show off some scenery.

Amazing views; we go every year to a town outside Durango called Hesperus. (Blue Lake). We spend 10 days or so exploring the four corners area. (Silverton, Telluride, Ridgeway, Ouray). We love it. Heaven on earth.

Wow, that's some awesome country exbiologist...makes me home sick for Idaho and the high country lakes we used to spend time at during the summer months. Excellent Pictures!!

Kids and Grandkids were here over the weekend and a bunch of target shooting got done at the little range in my garden. There was .38's, .357 Mag's, 9MM's, 40 S&W's, .44 Mag's, .223's, 308's, some kind of Mauser and about half a pick up truck load of .22LR's. A good time seemed to have been had by all. Temperature was running right at 100 most of the day so there was lots of ice tea and lemon aid on hand too.

I'm glad you asked! Last weekend my brother, being the awsome guy he is, surprised me with a ram/hog hunt in west Texas for my birthday. Got a ram and two little oinkers with my Savage in .260 Rem. The pigs were both down bang flop with one shot. They were walking away, side by side and the 140 grain Berger VLD went through the first one's neck, right where I was aiming, blew two vertebrae out the other side, and went straight into the second one's ear. They were about 60 yards away, I'd like to say it was intentional, but luck was on my side.

The ram was about 175 yards, exit wound shown in the pic. At the shot he kicked back and ran a big circle at a dead sprint and then collapsed in the cactus. Good weekend, and my first ram. I love my brother.

He shot a red hind, all should be tasty. Gonna make carnitas with one of the pigs, and smoke the other whole.
