Yesterday the in-laws came over and brought their pandemic g19. Nobody is allowed to shoot here without us bringing something out so the wife got her 238 and I shot my 225.

G19 was without problems, 225 found a bad primer from some wwb and 238 had a jam from a magazine not seated.

It was a good time, would of been better if the dog didn't decide to start crapping that close to the house

Got a chance to take both my girls out. Oldest brought the vintage Plinkster she confiscated from me when she moved out. Youngest brought her Marlin M70 and AR9. I brought a few handguns, but didnt get to actually shoot much- thats AOK with me though, I had a great time loading mags, clearing jams and just watching my kids do their thing.

Had a great day at the range yesterday. I had my Taurus 415 41mag and a few others. There were 2 younger shooters (early 20s) shooting their 9mms. Asked if they wanted to try the 41. They both ran a cylinder through the gun. I was impressed how well they shot it as it's not an easy gun to fire. They liked shooting the little hand cannon.

Dialed in my red dot on an SR-22 rifle. Nice 1 inch groups at 25 yards. I practiced with my .40 Shield, but man, I need to practice more. That gun is snappy. After 50 rounds through the Shield, I'm ready for my Mark IV. Amazed at how well my kids shoot. They don't like the Shield so much. I let them shoot it. Each good with 3 rounds.

    Hi...
Busy day at the gun clubs today.
Spent the morning and early afternoon at one club shooting steel plates with my son.
I fired roughly 160 rounds of .357Mag out of eight different revolvers, 80 rounds of .44Spl out if four different revolvers and 40 rounds out of two .38Spl revolvers. Add in about thirty rounds of .45AutoRim through my 1917 S&W revolver and another thirty or so rounds through a couple of 9 mm and 10mm semi autos.
My son fired about the same amount of rounds through pretty much the same guns although he did shoot both of my .45Colt and .44Mag lever action rifles and s large number of rounds through his H&K semi auto .22LR rifle.

After a break for lunch, we stopped at the other gun club we have memberships at to chronograph some test loads in my Dan Wesson .375SuperMag. Fired around thirty rounds between the two of us.

While we were there, he paid his membership dues. Since I have become an ancient decades long member, I have achieved lifetime membership, which translates into no yearly dues. As is my new yearly practice, I made a cash donation to the club.

Finally got out to do some shootin'

    Took four revolvers out

Nickel plated Colt Python and a custom Ruger NM BH in 45LC. Every time I shoot the python (rarely) I remember why I hate shooting it. The factory grips have raised checkering that is very sharp. Just tears my hands up! The BH has been smoothed and tuned, and is an absolute dream to shoot.

Colt Police Positive Target 22LR and a Colt New Service in 38-40. The PPT is an accurate little plinker, but just a bit small in my hands. The 38-40 is a bit smoother than my 1917 Colt, but has expensive taste! The New Service series is my favorite DA revolver.

M&P .22: after cutting about 1/4" from the original (OEM) recoil spring, its function has been perfect:). Nice to finally have trouble-free operation with the lower-cost Federal ammo ('blue box' and Automatch).

MAK 90, stamped AKM in 7.62x39 (all-matching, chf barrel etc). It Never had any issues at all. The vast majority of >imported AKMs< never have any hang-ups...

Good day, but decided I needed to give the TX22 barrel a good scrub when I got home.

    Hi...
Spent a few hours at the gun club with my son on Sunday. Temps in the mid30s with a slight amount of wind.

Managed to shoot the New to me 3 screw Blackhawk .357Mag my son gave me for Christmas. Nice revolver...shoots high at 25 yds. Elevation screw is out of adjustment. Will need to take it apart and see if there is something wrong with the sight adjustment screw. Nice revolver, though...pretty sure I can make this one work.

My son picked up a new to him ParaOrdnance double stack 1911 in .45ACP on Friday. That is a very nice handgun...accurate and the added mass just soaks up recoil. We both have large hands and the double stack frame was very comfortable. Impressive handgun...

We shot a few rounds through the Dan Wesson .357Maximum to get chronograph readings for some test loads that my son has worked up. Not impressed with the loads using Enforcer powder but the loads with H110 gave results that were much more like we were expecting velocity wise. Further testing with both powders is warranted.

After that we spent several hours ringing steel and turning big rocks on the 25yd berm into little rocks.
Filled two large Folgers coffee cans with empty brass in calibers including .357Mag, 44Spl, .44Mag, .45Colt, .45ACP. My son may have shot some 10mm...I did not.
I gave both my 1911 .45ACP handguns a good workout. Shot at least 10O rounds of .44Mag because I know I shot at least 20 rounds each through all five of them.
More than 80 rounds of .41Mag because I shot at least 20 rounds through all four of them.
Shot 60rounds of .44Spl...20 rounds each through both of my flat top BlackHawks and my SAA clone Uberti. My Taurus DA five shot revolver wasn't invited this weekend.

Lot of .45Colt downrange through several different handguns... didn't take my Contender or SBH Hunter in .45Colt along this trip. Both full size Vaqueros, my BlackHawk, Schofield replica and 1875 Remington clone and S&W Model 25 got extensive range time. Never got around to shooting the nickel plated Cody SAA clone for some reason.

I have a lot of brass to separate and tumble and then process in the next few days. Thankfully no 9mm brass or .40S&W brass this weekend. They got left at home this weekend with the .38Spl and .45AutoRim handguns.

    Hi...
We have had it out a couple of times since I received the brass from you.
Still working on what load we want to settle on that provides both acceptable accuracy and velocity.
May take a while but we will find that combination.

FWIW, I highly recommend the Dan Wesson Monson revolvers. I have four and they are all fine handguns.

Shot a few 308 hand loads for function check. Shot the last of my first batch of 9mm hand loads for my Shield. Got some practice with my Marlin 60 for a hopefully upcoming competition. Running through the ammo I want to use and had 2 failures to feed. This rifle is a bit finicky, but I'm shooting what i could find.

Shot 3 new to me guns today. Marlin 60 SB, Canik SFX9, and Inland M1 Carbine.

First mag thru the M1, rather happy with the accuracy even though it was only 10 yards, but im shaky and this was standing unsupported with a rifle im not used to.

    full.jpg

Left is the Marlin 60 at 15 yards standing, right is the same above M1 group

It shot great but for some reason I had a hard time being accurate with it. Maybe more trigger time but im avoiding shooting too much 9mm. Need to get some more mags though

Mine is pretty damn accurate , I'm sure you'll just need to get use to it. Does the SFX have fully adjustable rear sights? Mine only had windage , so I bought aftermarket rear sight so I could adjust for elevation as well

I wish it was fully adjustable. According to the manual the front and rear are drift windage adjustable. What sight did you get and was it easy to install?

My wife and I continued our weekly, weekend shooting trips to our local indoor range by putting 200 rounds through my Browning Buck Mark and Ruger Mk II. Thankfully, I’m pretty well stocked on .22lr ammo......for now.

I believe I ordered the sights right off of Amazon , the brand is HIVIZ , fiber optic and fully adjustable. Be sure to replace the front sight as well so that the height is correct, I bought as a set. I also bought a sight pusher because the rear stock sight didn't want to move , the pusher had NO problem removing it

Shot some steel with my glock 36 and ruger nm blackhawk. I put a vortex venom on to play with and very nice and easy to shoot. More accurate than me but putting it on a gp100 as we speak, the bh just doesnt look right with it on.

Yesterday went up to Roosevelt National Forest with youngest son(42YO).
Shot my new Stoeger 20g Condor Outback, my Glock 42, our Henry 22 lever, S&W Victory, my Wrangler. He shot his Glock 45 and Glock 48..

No Pix, sorry but perfect day, great fun..Examined various shot size expansion with the 2 chokes the Stoeger came with.

After shooting outside in an 'uncontrolled' range..an indoor range takes the fun out of it(sorta of, well, if that's all ya got)....
