What did you shoot today?

I shot, and shot very badly, my Sig P226 that I converted from DAO to DA/SA. It was me, two other guys shot it fine, and both of them want "battle scarred" P226's now. I shot one of my 4" S&W 28-2's better and better as time went on. I only stopped shooting it because I didn't bring anymore .38SPL ammo with me. I put 100 through it and each of the other guys put 50 though it. It shoots great, and it's the worse of my 2 4" 28-2's, mechanically, but the prettiest of the 2.

How did that 10mm do? From what I've read, they are pretty sweet pistols.
She did great, super accurate and the double stack fits my big hands so right. Im putting 14/15 in a 2" circle from 7 yards and 14/15 in a 3" circle from 10 yards with a normal grip and no support. I'm shooting CCI 200 grain and haven't had a single failure with them. I tried S&B 180 grain at first but they were nose diving bad because they're pretty square like most .40s. The CCIs are round like a 230 grain 45. After 150 CCIs I tried the S&Bs again and they did better but a couple still failed to chamber. I'm confident that after a few hundred more rounds when she's totally broken in the more square bullets won't be a problem.

T Returned new upper.jpg Today I shot a few hundred rounds with my new fiber optic front sight (green) and new Volquartsen rear sight.

What a pain the OEM Ruger sight is to adjust. Takes a jeweler's screwdriver to get into the screws while the VQ sight just required a small head.

I now have 1000 rounds through it after getting it back from Volquartsen. The LLV-4 Upper had a small piece break off after only 85K rounds. They replaced the top end and did a little work all for free. Now it shoots CCI-SV without any problems.

I also shot 200 rounds of CCI-Blazer 38 grainers with no problems.

I can now shoot it in Steel Challenge Matches without worrying about a jam as long as I keep it clean.

Shot my Remington 550-1. Did a lot of work on it a few months back. First chance I had to test it . Before it failed to feed every few rounds. Today 50 rounds without a single fail. Very accurate. Also shot a Taurus g3c. Fired 50 rounds the other day with no problems at all. Today 36 rounds with slide failing to return to full battery two times. Lacked about a quarter inch returning to full battery. Light slap on end set the slide. Using different ammo than first time. Or, just needs to be broke in. Only 86 rounds through it so far. Thinking to use it as a carry gun but for now I will stick with my 642-1.

I test fired my first AR15 build, a pistol in 300 blackout. It has an adjustable gas block in anticipation of adding a suppressor. I started at the most restricted setting and the gun fired a single round fine but didn't lock back on an empty magazine. I opened the gas until it would lock back on an empty mag, but had a stove pipe when I loaded two rounds. I opened the gas a bit more and everything worked reliably after that. I shot a few magazines with 3 rounds each to test function and get the sights adjusted. I noticed one of the screws on the ambi safety had worked loose, so I stopped after just 26 rounds. I've ordered some low-strength Vibratite 111 to put on those screws, and I'll go over the whole gun tomorrow and make sure everything else is tight.

Maybe two years ago or so different online merchants would offer deals on parts and, in moments of weakness, I succumbed. About a month back, I inventoried the parts and found I was real close to having everything I needed for a P80 build. Today I got the last piece, a custom magazine release. I put the pistol in the truck this evening and took a brief detour by the range on my way home.

I put 40 rounds through it without incident. I had a full size silhouette at 25 yards, and put enough of the shots (most of them) in the X or five ring that I figure it was me not the gun regarding the shots that missed. I need to tweak the rear sight, I want to remove a little polymer from the rear of the frame, and I'd like to touch up the finish. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. I'll work on it a little, practice with it, and who knows, maybe take it to a three gun match.

Hammerli TAC1 .22LR and Beretta APX - quite pathetic performance from my part really. On my local shooting range painted steel target with diffrent and multiple colors and i had hard time to hit some with APX at 18 meters. Got tham good with hammerli tho

In that first shot, it kinda looks like shes got the butt on her left shoulder, but its an optical trick. No, they are all righty's, lol.
shouldered on the left with right hand trigger finger would be a bit awkward.
Kinda like mama her 2nd or 3rd time at the range shooting my P238

Me:" you're making a lot of noise but I don't think you've hit anything"
Her:"I did better last time. I don't understand"
Set up the pistol rest, propped up phone to record so I could try to see what she's doing....
2 rounds later...

Me: "ok hunny, if you're going to close your right eye, you may have trouble shooting right handed"

Sorry, I looked at the photo and thought she was a lefty!
I love to shooting with the kids. Nephews (30, 29, & 24) and there girls are so fun to spend range time with.

Just got back from the range, shot the Tikka varmint in .223 . Shot steel at 300 yards for a casual evening of shooting with my Son . Took my time coming home watching the sunset and dodging deer in the road .

My nephew's GF is looking to get her CCW and never shot a gun. So we got out a couple of my .380 , 9mm, PCC, .357, and 22lr. She progressed very well and was soon loading her own mags and getting on a 12" target at 15yds.
Out of everything she shot shot, she enjoyed the carbine the most and the .357 the least. But of the pistols, which included my Stoeger and Glock19, she did the best with the Taurus G3C.
She did manage to shoot the beam off one side of my homemade target system, but it was a quick fix with a new piece of pvc.
I also got a few rounds in myself with my M57.
