Sometimes all I need is a single-shot 22 and a box of shells. A half-hour out behind the barn, and all is right with the world.
Winchester Model 67, old as dirt. I'm told it has a Mdl 67A bolt in it - okay, sure. Who cares.
I got it at an estate auction probably 10 years ago. I took 4-0 steel wool soaked in mineral spirits and lightly rubbed it; cleaned 50 years of grime and schmutz off of it. A light coat of BLO, and the walnut stock is beautiful. Character marks galore; I don't care.
I don't think there is any bluing left on it, it seems to be developing a wonderful brown patina.
This rifle is pre-serial numbers, and I'm almost certain is late 1930s: pre-WW2.
Buckhorn sights, and a 26" barrel.
Stick a cartridge in, close the bolt, pull back on the firing pin carrier.

3" circle, 25 yards, 10 rounds. Eyes in their 7th decade.
The rifle certainly prefers standard velocity ammo. It was built prior to Hi-Vel stuff.
