What did you shoot today?

"Century L1A1 Sporter" on Imbel upper receiver. The Aussie soldiers Really wore out gas tubes (--during removal for cleaning--), which caused burrs on tube threads. This rifle's semi-auto function hardly worked, even then on the "Max. Gas (to piston), closed external vent." setting.
And because it's a Century😣.....no barrel Washer was present = the rear sight offset could not be adequately adjusted. The pre-eminent FAL gun smith, Mark Graham of ARS, corrected the problems.

Only used 20 rounds today, went to the club After the gun Show, but I finally had a spotter for the 200-yard gong: a 10" x 12" plate, which looks as wide as the thin front post:scrutiny:.

But if you sit just 150 yards from that small gong ( :)when nobody else is around!) it then is so much easier to hit the metal plate.

Anybody who needs to be spoiled/pampered with the best ergos: ideal trigger, rail(s), adjustable butt stock etc would not like the older "NATO-era" battle rifles. The Commonwealth FALs, even with a "Metric Upper"-- have no BHO feature
(vs 100% 'Metric-pattern' FALs), but you seldom read any complaints about that.
Most people can't accept the 'lesser' ergos of an HK/PTR-91 !...or the US-made CETME L by Marcolmar.

Another range trip to continue correcting surgery induced issues. Shoot my Glock 30. Being left eye dominant I decided to try shooting left handed. Made an awesome difference. Felt very awkward. Talked with RSO on grip and such. He suggested going back to right grip but tip gun to 10 O'Clock. That helped but not as much as left hand shooting but that is very awkward.
Pulled out the Security Six. Forgot how good that gun shoots. Might drive back to carrying a revolver.
The Glock 20 could become trading fodder for a 610 or GP 100 in 10mm. Love the caliber but not the gun.
Finished off with my AR15. Such a fun gun.
It was a good night

Springfield M1A Standard (walnut)

Czechpoint VZ-58.

Please note:
None of the AKM components, Nor magazines....will work in a VZ-58. Why should mags interchange? Do your Walther PPQ mags work in a similar-looking HK, or vicey-versa?
AKM guys: never assume that a gun which is similar can share any component. If you don't spend a few hours reading about an unfamiliar gun type, and you already bought Far too many AKM mags... expecting, as seen in --Fictional Movies--,
to defend your block with a VZ (+ the Hot 20 year-old daughter next door👩‍🦰) against the demons of the Wasteland in need of your gasoline refinery, don't blame anybody else :). https://www.bing.com/videos/rivervi...D66F173286B2CF5FCE43D66F173286B2CF5&FORM=VIRE

Trivia: Springfield never re-started production of barrels with bayo lugs after the AWB ended🇺🇸. A separate, kinda pricey flash hider is available with a bayo lug. Guys on "M-14 Forums" say so and include the link.
A little irony: but my VZ-58, 2019 vintage, from the Czech Republic🇨🇿 has both a threaded muzzle And a bayo lug on the stock barrel.- just like in the image ;)

Glenn's rifle.jpeg

Shot my latest 10/22 with some decent results. Changes to be made, New stock from Stocks Euro, new scope mount and rings. My groups stated out 18 inches to the right. I was lucky enough to get them on target but still 4 inches right. No more adjustments with the scope or the rings, so new ones on the way. New trigger, one that's been hiding in the garage for 15 year. Polished it up and got to just under 3 pounds with it. Hopefully my groups will tighten up

These were shot at 25 yards from a bench with front rest and rear bag.

He has to start and learn somewhere. Glad he was willing to at least try it
I was definitely proud of him for asking to try and wasn't going to tell him no. He'd been having trouble with malfunctions in his TX22 and MKIV and I think we figured out he wasn't getting enough of a high, firm grip. Worked on that and decided not to have him trying to ride the safety on the 1911's. Maybe I should have?
He went right back to the 9mm though, so that made me feel good.
