what do you call the part of the gun...

On a side by side double barrel shotgun what is the correct term or name for the two roughly hemispherical masses on either side of the locking lever...those two bulges where the firing pins are hidden on a hammerless double?

I know it cannot be "firing pin housings" because percussion shotguns have 'em and percussion guns don't have firing pins. They perform the same function as the recoil shield on a revolver...is that nomenclature transferable from revolver to shotgun?
