Due to several factors, (money, work, honeydew list, etc) I'm now entering my fourth week without going to the range.
The soonest I'll be able to "get a fix" will be this weekend, if I'm lucky enough not to have to work or something.

I've pulled all my guns out one at a time and cleaned them thoroughly, twice.

I've practiced dry-firing in the house enough so my wife thinks I've got something against the TV. (It's great for moving targets)

What do you guys do when the itch comes and you can't scratch it for at least several days? Any tips on how to take the edge off?

It's worse than cold turkey.

That's what airsoft or paintball is for!

Failing that, how about a .22 and some CB caps or Aguila Colibris?
Make yourself a trap, set up in the garage, and shoot all day long (just be careful of accumulated lead). :neener:

What are CB caps or Aguila Colibris?

Especially Aguila Colibris, sounds like a cologne.

A good analogy would be they are like non-alcoholic beer. Not very satisfying but better than nothing. Very light stuff you can shoot in the basement!;) :D

cb caps by cci, colibri's and super col's from Aguila, or last but not least, i got a Daisy red ryder by my closet door, oiled and ready to go.

I'm unemployed and the local DNR range is torn up so I come and play on the forums, watch movies and look for work. I am pretty much done with that and will be heading south to an open range today and shooting something made out of complex but natural chemicals.

When I can't shoot, I just have sex instead.. It's just as satisfying, but never can be quite as fun.

Air pistol?
Playstation-Big Game Hunter?
Shooting forums?
Read Shooting/Guns magazines & Books?

I've not been to the range for a few weeks now, even picked up my new pistol last week and I'm getting really itchy now, definatley going tonight:)

It's the age old saying "Those that can, do.. those that can't, talk about it":)

I usually fire up the PC and run Call of Duty 2 for a while. Nothing like lining up realistic sights on a nazi soldier's head and popping his helmet off.

We have LOTS of country backroads that are in the middle of no where and lots of forest acreage. If I ever need a fix bad enough......for me it's usually that I want to check a gun repair or fire a new gun before hitting the range.....I'll load a cylinder or a mag and go find a nice, deserted spot in the country. An empty clothes detergent bottle is a nice target that is easy and clean/quick enough to pick up after being shot (don't leave your trash). We have some nice forestry roads that are great for this type of thing.....don't forget, though, depending on where you may be doing this, it may be illegal, so you may want to check with the local police or forestry commission.

I have three hundred and twenty two rounds left in my federal bulk pack from my last range trip.

oh and-

If I had a wife, I know what I'd do to pass time.
If you had a wife, you'd know the meaning of down boy :neener:
