Called the tech at Glock today and talked about night sights. He recommended the factory Glock nights sights in green. Said they are the brightest and will last about 15 years. He said to send the slide and a check for $ 57 plus tax. Insure it for $200 and go Fed Ex or UPS.
Any feedback on those sights before I send my slide out?

Well, of course he would recommend their service. But, as it happens, Glock night sights are made (I think) by Meprolight (with all green dots; AFAIK front night sights are always green), and $57 installed is a very good price. I would do it.

You need not send just the slide by UPS or FedEx - it is perfectly OK to mail it.

i personally run trijicons on most of my guns, but there is nothing wrong with the factory ones either. i would also like to suggest that you check out the xs 24/7 night sights imho they are the best sights out there for defense. they are bright day and night and are quick on target. and they are so easy to put on that you coulddo it yourself, i have added many sets to various glocks. and the xs sights come with everything that you need to instal them.

Factory sights with factory work=factory's problem if something's wrong. For $57, sounds like a deal.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I paid $55 for mine plus shipping, then had to install them myself. They are good night sights and are half the price of trijicons.

Consider TurGlo TFOs first. They are fiber optic sights that have tritium inserts so you get the brightness of fiber optic when you have good light, but tritium when light fades. You can also get them with green front and yellow rear. That is important because it can be difficult to distinguish the front sight from the rear sights in the dark when they are all the same color.

Loop has a good point about the front to rear sight issue. I wonder if just a front site only when trying to find something in the dark may be the way to go. Not sure they come that way.

I have trijicons on my CZ PCR...now have to top the G26 with nite sights when i get some extra cash.

I have Heinie Slant Pro Straight Eights on my G19. Line up the front dot above the rear dot, and you're GTG.

That's a very good point! In darkness, and in a combat situation, having just a front night sight is like having a red dot scope. Just put the dot on body mass and shoot. What do you guys think?

Without being able to see the rears you might end up subconsciously holding the muzzle high so the dark rear sights don't obscure the front. Just a thought, I haven't tried it.
That sounds like a very good price, mine (meprolight) were $70 installed.

big dot sites

Have a set of xs24/7 tritium big dot sites on my kahr pm9 and it is totally awsome. Not a target site but a fighin site and indeed if you can't see it when pointing it, then nothing else is gonna work either. But in all honesty that glock price, installed is super. send it usp, screw fed X or ups. U can indeed sned the slide legally through the us mail and u need not tell them jack **** either. YOU ARE LEGAL. 100%.

The factory Glock night sights are ok. I didn't know they were made by Mep.
The meprolight sights are the brightest I have ever used and seem to stay bright longer,although I now have Ameriglos on the two most frequenly carried Glock pistols.
That price is a deal,I'd go for it. If I bought a Glock with their factory nght sights installed,I certainly wouldn't bother changing them out.
