what does "accurate out of the box" mean to you?

It means I spent enough BUCK$ up front that I dont have to take it apart and spend more BUCK$ and then have to WAIT for weeks for the parts to come back to hit the paper at a 100 yards or so. LoL

it means that as soon as I sight it in, I am content with what ever groups I get when I shoot it in the application that I bought it for. No need for aftermarket parts save possibly a scope. but then if its not "accurate out of the box" i probably don't want anything more to do with it and consider it a failed gun purchase.

It means nothing if your weapon doesn`t like it or you (anybody) are a lousy shot to begin with.
It`s just one part of a 3 (total) part equation. Ammo.Weapon. Shooter.
It by itself doesn`t make anybody a better shooter but rather gives you a leg up on getting there. Maybe. :)

to me, it means AFTER it has been cleaned, moa (or less) groups with at least one brand / style / weight of factory ammo. i don't care where on the target it hits, that is just sight alignment, and can be dealt with easily enough. but if it will not hold good groups, something has to be done, or a different rifle installed under those sights! on a pistol, 3" groups @ 21 feet, reguardless of the ammo. if it has a scope, then 3" groups @ 50 yards with at least 1 factory ammo.
