I started out with plain (non-serrated) edges knives then tried a few 1/2 and 1/2 knives (half serrated). After issues with sharpening the serrated portion I have switched back to plain edge only.
IMO There isn't a whole lot that a serrated-edge can do that sharp plain-edge can't do.
Plain.Unless you are in the rope business, I don't see serrations as being much benefit in the long run.
