I’m truly sorry for your loss. You weren’t alone this year. I know 6 people who passed within a week and a half of Christmas. Only one of them was over 55 years old. Was a bad Christmas for a lot of families I know. But I also know when I really need peace where I find it. And it’s always waiting for me whenever I sit down in the woods. I really hope you find what you need.

Gracias, amigo. Mom was 58. Cancer is a terrible, awful, merciless disease. It’s always good to make time to get in the woods and bury my demons there in the leaves. I’ve also learned that life is what you make of it. Every season has highs and lows. Here’s to making 2019 a better year in our hearts, our minds, our memories and our freezers.
