LOL....so I'm not the only one.....we have a 11 year old German Shorthair who favors that spot here also. He does sleep though, as well as snore terribly. Good thing the 90 lb lab is ok with the couch.

In the night stand, Ruger SP-101 w/crimson trace grips and a S&W 686 w/meprolights....and a S&W 60 (when it is not on me)

I don't keep any defensive tools inside my nightstand. I have an alarm clock on the nightstand but I have to walk across the room to reach that. That's inconvenient for self defense. A naked Springfield 1911 w/nite sites under the pillow works for me.
