What front sight for a Sig?

I have a Sig 225 that shoots 6" low at 15 yds, the front sight is #8 and the rear #7, I want to change the front sight and can buy a #5 or #7, so which should I get?

SIG's rule: "When changing the sights, remember this rule: “NUMBERS UP, IMPACT UP; NUMBERS DOWN, IMPACT DOWN”. This is true whether it concerns the front or rear sights."
Front sight: 1" between number changes at 25 yards
Rear sight: 2" between number changes at 25 yards

I don't know what caliber your Sig is, but most .40's come with a #6 front, and a #8 rear sight.

My 229 was shooting low when I bought it, and I looked to see that it had a #7 rear sight. I changed it out for a #8 and it's on the money now.

I swap out to a #8 rear to start with.

Nothing personal, but if you're 6" low at 15 yards, something else is going on. Is it 6" low when you benchrest it?
