HARTFORD — A 29-year-old man charged with firing two shots into the air outside a Park Street bar in November 2011 was sentenced to one year in prison on Thursday..
Charles "Pluck" Young had pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm.
Young testified last summer in the murder trial of Andre Gill, who was accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old Fred "Cuzo" Pines outside MiBar Sports Lounge & Café on Park Street around midnight on Nov. 18, 2011. The charges against Young stemmed from his firing a gun into the air outside the bar during the altercation.
Gill was convicted on several charges, including murder, and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
During the week-long trial, Gill got on the witness stand and denied shooting Pines. He said the real shooter was Young. He testified that he helped Young get rid of the gun.
Young testified against Gill, saying he saw Gill fire at Pines
