We have the 26 & the 19. You cant go wrong here. for all the reasons above. heck just consider ammo cost alone. I prefer the 26 for summer carry winter brings out the19. If I could only have one it would be the 26. Just my 2/c. Same holster for both too.

I have the G19 and G21. I don't have big hands so the 21 is a bit of a mitt-full, but it's very accurate and easy to shoot. Ammo for the 19 is cheaper and it's a good winter carry gun. Many feel the 19 is the best all-round Glock.

Both have advantages and disadvantages, which is why I have both.

The 36 will also fit in all 19/23 holsters as well just in case you did not know.

That would seem to be more of an incentive NOT to buy it for me. As a shooter more than a collector, company support, if not aftermarket support, is essential. If I can't get parts or service for my firearm, what good is it to me? I realize that most of the RTF2's parts are probably interchangeable with the "normal" G17, but still...

All the parts are standard third gen Glock parts.
Only difference between the RTF2 Glocks and standard third gen Glocks is the frame texture.

RTF = standard third gen frame texture
RTF2 = more aggresive frame texture
RTF3 = standard fourth gen frame texture

The RTF2 frame texture was created in response to LE request for a more aggressive frame texture for use in wet/humid enviroments.

A common complaint about the RTF2 frame texture was that it was too aggresive/rough for CCW usage (rubs skin raw & accelerates wear/tear on clothing).

Around Q3 2010, Glock made the decision to discontinue it for civilian sale but keep it as an option for LE/mil/gov only sales.

Quiet beat me to it, the RTF2 was to my hands(and clothing)just too intensely aggressive, often causing abraisions to my hands during fire. I would take the G-17 over the 21 for many reasons, the primary one being that the G-21SF I owned blew up in my face, sending me to the ER for stitches to both my face and right hand...

Few situations where a G17 would not serve you well. In one of the Advanced Tactical Shooting courses I took, the instructor (a sergeant in a large Michigan PD) asserted, that the 9mm will penetrate through-and-through every time, and with the added number of rounds over a .45 ACP, you have more rounds to take out the spine and stop the attack. Love my G17, G19C and G26. My G34 was front-heavy and my G21-SF was just too durned large. For my G17, I have the "America's Heroes" edition in recognition of the 9-11-2001 NYPD and NYFD heroes who answered the call.

I'm faced with a similar situation. I have a friend who has a G21 and a G34 for sale and I'm about 90% sure i'm going to buy the G34.

" I will get the next one in about 5 years "-sprice

5 yrs !?:what: Man, they'll have a 20, 24, 31, 40, 50 model by then. Jeebuz, let us know what you get, I wont hold my breath. Good luck, you've got a long time to decide.

In 9mm Glock is best of breed. 17/19/26/34 you won't find a better 9mm.

They are Accurate, Reliable and Practically Indestructible.

Get the Glock 17.

TomADC, I have a Glock 21 and it came with two 13 round mags. I believe 10 round mags are from back when they had a ban on large cap mags.

Well,if you just want to shoot a lot go with 9mm. My choice of the three would be the G-36. Great shooter and also great carry, range gun.

I am buying 9mm for 10 a box at wallmart, federal. Vs. 25 for .45 acp!

Glock 17 is a one gun quiver unless you live in Kalifornistan. Then get a 1911!
