I've been looking for a Kimber Stainless Pro Raptor II for a while now. I found one online last week and it shipped yesterday to my FFL along with a Ruger SP101 with a 3-1/16" barrel. I used Midways $30 off $300 Memorial Day special to order a bunch of Ed Brown parts for the Kimber along with a box of 500 Rainier LeadSafe Bullets (230gr FMJ, .45 ACP) to make up "factory" loads for function testing.

Great---is it locking back by now
I haven't had a chance to take it out shooting again yet, but after a little research it looks like the lockback issue may be caused by the slide stop digging into the magazine follower. Not a major concern, but I'll look into fixing it. It sounds like Kel Tec will send a free replacement slide stop as well, which I'll take advantage of if I can't work it out on my own.

Pretty Kimber 1858!!

Thanks, but I think it'll look a whole lot better when I'm done with it. I'm going to bob the frame and fit an Ed Brown chainlink MSH, swap out most of the MIM parts for Ed Brown parts, and finish the whole pistol in Cerakote, most likely graphite black. It'll be a fun project and I hope it'll prove to be reliable and accurate.

I just bought a P225 for my wife..Got her a pink sig mosquito..to get her into guns, once she comfortable with that…step her into a 9mm single stack. My plan is working!!

BTW-Here in Arizona (don't know about other places) we can buy guns from other citizens on a site called Backpage.com , some of these guys will ship to your FFL. No taxes! Check it out and look how many posts a day. http://phoenix.backpage.com/SportsEquipForSale/?layout=detailed

Big John1961,
I just picked up the PX4 compact (middle sized one) in 9mm and shot it for the first time over the weekend. I was very impressed by it. Great shooter for the money. It's my first "plastic" firearm and I wanted something different from the block designs. I think you'll like it if you bought it for the same reasons I did. Good Luck with it.

Actually, it was yesterday now but I bought a Ruger GP100 .357 5" bbl stainless. I probably won't see it until next week though.

Not much of a pic but it'll have to do for now:

Tanfoglio Gt 380 XE
Found it at a LGD in great shape. Took it home, cleaned it, then took it to the range.
Was very happy with it's performance. No problems with a $100 gun puts a smile on your face.

That's great info, thanks for sharing. I bought mine for much of the same reasons as you, I wanted to get a polymer that was a little bit different. Handling it really sold me and I can't wait to shoot it. I almost bought the compact myself, but I have several pistols in that size range, so I went with the full size.

I got a Bulldog from GunBroker today. Been wanting one, just hadn't gotten around to it. They named that sight right, every gun I find and want, I get broker...Looking forward to it though. Now I got to get some .44 special brass in nickle finish so I don't mix it with my .44 mag brass.

Nothing today. Im living down in California working for the summer. If i could get back to idaho i would buy the Beretta 96A1 at teh first gun store i could find. To bad it is at least a 13 hour drive back up there. In a few months when i get back i will be holding that gun and it will be great.
