Are you my doppleganger?

Only if you pull into a dealership to get the oil changed and it steadily breaks down when you hand over the keys to the point you drive off the lot with a Trailblazer. Then you would be mine. I did have the Regal when I bought the Walther though. Still have the Walther, the Regal however...

Close-ish. The battery mysteriously died and one tire deflated when I went to get my oil changed, once. Still going strong, except drink holder broken off and door handle sticks out.

I drive a couple of fake Ferraris. One is built on a Datsun Z and the other on a beefed up VW Beetle. However, I don't shoot fake guns. I might have "Hk Mark 23" etched onto the slide of a Hi-Point though. Thanks for the idea!!:D

If this was stolen from another forum, it really should be linked and the OP given credit. {that is a hint}

I personally find the assertions...if not flawed (since it gives not reference upon which the judgements at based)...obviously biased; both automotively and in regards to the guns listed.

I'd personally consider it borderline trolling, but it is the season for some humor...and I do find it vaguely amusing and the follow-on postings even funnier. However if this degenerates into disagreements, I won't hesitate to close it.

This is the only warning that will be issued

The kinds of things that go on in that other forum, on the regular, and within posts of this one, are way, waaaaay beyond what is acceptable for posting on THR...I dare not link to it in any way. It is not a gun forum or gun board, and I haven't yet been a member of a forum where a poster could get away with 1/4 as much crap as you can there.

I posted it as humor...It isn't too be taken too seriously.

I want to thank Warp for sending me the link...good idea not to link there.

This has gotten some notice about being OT, I'll let it run for a couple of days, just for fun...or until it exceeds the 3 page rule

I just bought a 1982 Datsun 280zx. Is that a 22 mag derringer?

Yes it has T-Tops!
If you're asking about my Hi-Point, yes, but in addition to marking the slide "Hk Mark 23" I think I'll add "500 S&W Magnum". It adds to the pizzazz. You gonna do a V8 swap in that 280?

So I happen to own and drive a 1963 Cadillac Coupe Deville, what gun do I choose?

I'm thinking something gold plated and in .32 caliber....

1954 Ford Customline:

You will be the proud owner of a Colt Official Police revolver with a 4 inch barrel in .38 caliber, which you will carry unloaded due to a history of accidental discharges. The reputation for quality and reliability will be in marked contrast to that of your car, which will need plugs, points, bearin's, valves, rings, starter switch, ignition wires, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, clutch, clutch bearin's, clutch plate, brake linin', brake shoes, brake drums, radiator hose and radiator hose couplin'...and a good wash, too.

(Figure THAT one out! :D )

Hilariously funny.... I drive a suburban and a mustang. I have owned glocks to 1911. sigs to a cool 3" colt D/S. I've had a few S&w revolvers, Rugers Even an XD-45 I live on a 54foot yacht. (all guns stored on dry land) What does that say about me I wonder?????

I drive a Nissan Titan Pro4X 4x4. It's a horrible gas hog and has trouble hauling my tools and my rv.

I carry a Para P14 and shoot a Sig Sauer 716 patrol.

I have no idea what that means... :uhoh:

Me- 2010 Silverado LTZ Z71 = Springfield EMP.
Both are at the same time luxurious and "like a rock" reliable.

Wife- 2010 Chevy Trailblazer= P238.
Compact, capable and reliable.

I actually own 4 Hi Point firearms and a vehicle that works for all of them.

The Datsun will be for my daughter so, while I will be having it "fixed up" I don't need to add anything else to that insurance bill. My son already drives a 1994 Bronco V-8.

I drive a 2005 Scion XB

CZ-82: Small, light, comfortable, high capacity for what it is and its size, and just won't stop working.

Might also be fun to see something that goes the opposite direction..."If you own a (fill in the blank) handgun, then you are likely to drive as (fill in the blank) vehicle...

I have seen this before, but am sad to say I finally fit into this category.

I drive a 2011 Toyota Camry and carry a Glock 19. :(

Well, I can't afford to drive the real thing or own the really kewl firearms so I dress my sheep in wolf clothing. It's sorta' like compensating for something but not really.

Baseless assertions are just that. Someone having owned something that the person is making baseless assertions about does not make it any different.

"You need an HK Mark 23. It's impractical,..."

Impractical based on what?

"You need an HK45. You can't afford an Mark 23, but you will swear your pistol is every bit as good."
"You should buy an M&P. It's not as good and costs just as much as a Glock, ..."

What the hell is this "as good" and "not as good" based on?

"The Walther PPQ...You don't care that routine maintenance costs a fortune, "

How so?

Rather than wit, only stuff the article reaks of is "whoever has more expensive guns than mine sneers at me, and guns in the same price range as mine are all inferior to mine and its owners must harboring inferiority complex" complex.
Wow, man calm down. No need to get hostile. There is a reason that comical answer is in the title. It is based on biases (some true, some not) and that is why it is funny. I currently don't own a car but I did have an m&p; garbage in my opinion (I havn't had a chance to own a Glock to compare). I got a decent trade and I will never look at one again. Im sorry if you have one and like it and had a good experience or was offended by what the op said, but I thought that (even if not all true) they were funny. On the topic of the post I guess since I do not have a car my Tanfoglio witness combat 9 is like my feet, they almost always work, get me where I need to go, and I do like to brag about the miles I walk sometimes.

You mean like, "I drive a Hummer H1 but shoot a .22LR Heritage revolver?" Or, "I drive a non-S Mini Cooper but shoot a .500 S&W Magnum?" Yeah, it'll be interesting to hear from the bi-polar types. :D

I am sorry. I did not know that comedy is as simple as making biased baseless assertions, and putting "comedy" in the title line makes that "comedy" immune to criticism, especially criticism about it not being witty or funny.

man, calm down. It was just a bit of fun that no one took seriously. Did one of your handguns and/or cars get "insulted"? It is more about making fun of the assumptions/biases that people have towards certain guns and certain autos, nobody else thought it was an actual review of the guns/autos listed.

This is a good laugh. Thanks Warp I needed that.
I wonder what gun I need if I have a 1994 beat up chevy silverado thats paid for?
...Maybe an SR9?

This is hilarious:
You actually like the fact that every time you speak to the manufacturer, they treat you like you're wasting their time, because you secretly believe that you deserve it.
I laughed out loud when I read that.
