What guns have been handed down to you?

My Grandfathers Mod 94 Winchester built in 1917. That gun has killed a lot of deer........

M-1 Carbine, 1917 Enfield, Winchester '97 16 gauge. 3rd and 4th generation.

S&W/Howa 1500 in .270. My dad wound up with two identical ones, long story.

I inherited my Great-grandpa's well used Remington model 12-A. I learned to shoot with that gun, and I shot my first rabbit with it.

My kids will inherit plenty of guns

my dad gave me his Marlin Model 60 .22lr. It's a nice gun for a tube fed semi-auto. He left my brother the H&R 12 and 20 gauge set that my great grandma gave him when he was 12.

Remington Model 31 pump shotgun in 16 ga. with solid rib 26" barrel. My Uncle Bought it and let my grandfather have it later on. My grandfather gave it to me. My Uncle says it's mine to keep. I'll never sell or part with it until I'm gone. Then, one of my kids will get it, with strict orders to keep it in the family forever, of course. My uncle paid $28.00 for it, new, in 1937, in a hardware store. The finish on the metal is brown instead of blue. My dad oil finished the stock and added a Pachmyr recoil pad. It's in great shape. Some wear marks on the slide bars is all. I don't hunt with it anymore, but it was my first shotgun to hunt with, back in the late 60's. That's one smooth action. You can point the barrel up, push in the pump release and the action comes almost all the way back, just on gravity alone. Sweet. I don't think it's worth all that much money, according to the Gun Digests. But who cares? You can't put a price on a gift like that from some relatives I think very highly of. My grandfather passed away quite a few years ago. My uncle is still in great shape at 87. He recently purchased a M1 Carbine just to have one. You gotta love a guy like that.

Aunt tried to throw away her pistol

Several years ago my now-deceased aunt asked, "How do you get rid of a gun?" I asked why and she told me that up in the closet in a little box is a gun and she was afraid of it and wanted to discard it. I pulled it down and it was a little .22 short Uberti pepperbox derringer copy of a Sharps, a little corrosion on the brass. I took it. Can't really find much info on it but doubt it's worth much.
