I read a positive article regarding the Kel-tec su16, and it sounded like a good way to get a friend into the .223 calibers. I told him I'd find one for him, and it's been very difficult - Even Bud's Gun shop is out of stock on every one of his Kel-Tec offerings, and I saw only a few on Gunbroker, none of them new, other than a couple of pistols - Are they still around?

The company is still around but their guns are in high demand and everything they make gets sold. Also, they build their stuff in batches, they don't run a constant assembly line for each product. That's why availability is can be so hit and miss.

Yeah, it's black and scary so of course it's out of stock.

But if you're interested in getting one, go to a gun shop and see if they can order it straight from the factory.

I imagine their main production has been focused on the RFB, their new front ejection .308 rifle.

I called about 15 different gun dealers in Louisville Metro on Thursday looking for a P3AT. No one has any. One shop that I refuse to go to does, but that is because they are way too much.

Same story: Can't keep them in stock. Back ordered.

Trust me. The best chance you have of getting any Kel Tec firearm is from a Florida store. When KT does a run the local and area stores have priority and they get them first. I got my KTsub2k from a shop located only 2 miles from Kel Tec. All it took was a phone call and a credit card number.

every kel tec that comes into the stores is being purchased before it ever gets a chance to see the shelf... dealers arent even asking what the configuration or price is... "kel tec, I'll take it"

The response I got from local gun shops is "good luck finding one". They don't sit on shelves these days. I was looking for them myself.

there is a new one at Wortham firearms outside dallas. He will ship to your FFL. his number is 972-564-1520.
