What happened to the cheap Mosin Nagant parts?

I distinctly remember ordering a few MN parts for all of $0.05 -$0.25ea, such as springs, bolt parts, floorplate latches, etc. I now see the same dang parts going for $3-$9.50! I can't recall where I bought the parts previously, so they may still be cheap somewhere, but if they're really all that price now...

What happened?

A finite supple of parts and a growing demand is probably what happened. Out of curiosity what parts were you buying for a nickel?

Don't tell the collectors I said this , but why don't you simply buy an extra rifle to use as a donor? They aren't that much.

I was buying floorplate latches, recoil bolts, bolt connectors, etc, for less than $0.25 each. This was less than two years ago.

All these Johnny Come Latilies that did not own Mosins before China opened up and the wall came down have bought a bigillion rifles and shot them to the point they need replacement parts and then bought up the stock of parts!

Or just throw the broken one in the trash can and use the other one.
