What happens after Rittenhouse is acquitted?

If he is acquitted he should take it and move on to somewhere else and be happy with the outcome. Pushing the issues will cost him in the long run. There is a chance they may make an example out of him like the couple that defended their property. Is it right, no but times now are really screwed up.

I haven't read the other responses but here is my take:

IF he is acquitted, there will be riots in various cities, possibly worse than last year.

At the same time, the Feds will bring charges against him for violating the civil rights of those he shot. They can't charge him for murder (double jeopardy), but they will continue to pursue him however they can under the current administration.

Convicted or acquitted, he is screwed.

The evidence presented at the trial and the post trial interviews of Martin's girlfriend showed that Zimmerman followed dispatch request to wait for the responding officers to arrive.....
I remember early in that case when the media was really starting to push hard about charges not being filed hearing the original 911 call. But then it became very hard to find.

None of it is relevant but I believe there already is sympathy for Rittenhouse. The "protest" was actually a riot over the police shooting of a man resisting arrest on a charge of sexual assault. Among those Rittenhouse shot was convicted child rapist Joseph Rosenbaum, who was trying to follow through on his treat to kill Rittenhouse.
yes, but what I meant was that Rittenhouse could go on a media campaign saying he respects the protestors, and was there stop people like Rosenbaum, who were not there to protest police use of force, but to use the protest as a platform for theft/destruction. He may get some mileage out of that if acquitted.

Remember the old adage about not counting one's chickens before they hatch.

The jury instructions that have now been agreed upon include include an instruction on the subject of provocation. If the prosecution can persuade the jury that Kyle's pointing of the rifle before he was fired at constituted intentional provocation, the defendant will be stripped of the privilege of the legal defense of self defense, all other facts aside. Period.

Expect that argument o be made in the prosecutor's closing argument.

And do not be surprised if the defendant to convicted on most counts.

I would be very surprised, guessing I would not be alone.
So would I, absent this recent development.

The prosecution just obtained a drone video showing Kyle apparently pointing the rifle. I'm not sure how one would reasonably carry a rifle under the circumstances, but if the jury is persuaded that he did pint the rifle at the man who then chased him with a pistol, that would change everything. Self defense would be off the table.

This supposedly damning drone video shows the blurry, pixelated form of Kyle Rittenhouse from a great distance. Everyone is gathered around the TV watching it over and over again, trying to interpret the pixels as they wish. It's a pathetic grasp at straws on the part of the prosecution, it shows nothing definitive. He could have just been pointing with his arm for all we know from this video.

The video can be seen here. 1:46:57 time mark.

What if he doesn't respect the protestors? I don't.
we all know he doesn't. The idea is that he can out virtue signal the media. The right has short memories and forgives. Maybe not individuals, but as a whole. The left is bitter and never forgets. Thats their nature. He can still out left the left. The right will never care, and will forget his name in a few years.

Suing for defamation would be a poor move on Rittenhouse's part. He should just walk away from this and get on with the rest of his life.

A defamation suit would be seen as purely political. It would fan the flames of the predictable unrest that would take place anyway after a "not guilty" verdict.
He needs to sue the MSM they have told nothing but lies about him.

Point: He should sue for damages, defam, illegal prosecution (oops! ppl forgot that one eh?) etc.
Argument: He may not / will not prevail so, don't try.
Takeaway: Among many takeaways, perhaps the prosecution should have done this? Not OVER charged? Would they have rode out with a successful prosec. if they started with a lesser charge? Why didn't they then?

ITS all BEEN POLITICIZED and therefore should be responded to in kind. FILE SUITS early, file often. Sue everyone.

All IMHO IINAL yadda yadda etc

The last thing he should do is try to appease the left, JMO.
The gun charge will not be dropped
My understanding is that the law is vague and very poorly written. I agree, dropped is not the correct term. I think it is likely KR will be found not guilty of a single charge, but there is a small possibility of guilty on misdemeanor gun charge. JMO

The prosecutions actions reek of desperation. The jurors can plainly see that. If in their shoes, I think I would find it very annoying.

He should get on with his life. Try to avoid being a poster boy for causes. Folks here want to get those bad folks on the other side for their own politics. He doesn’t need the stress. Write a book with a good ghost writer in a bit for some money, if he wants.
A desire for theater to get Biden or Nancy is fun for you and bad for him. He has to live with killing three and that takes a toll. You saw that on the stand, he doesn’t need to relive that in more extreme circumstances. If he gets off, I would recommend some quite counseling away from the nuts to get his life back.

Remember the lawyer couple (McCloskeys) waving their guns (AR and useless piece of crap). They went on the media circuit. So that's an example. They might have the resources to do such. Kyle is a kid and doesn't need that. He was misguided by various factors to go there. He doesn't need to be misguided and exploited.

About Federal charges, if it is done for political theater, I think the current elections would suggest that the Democrats don't need a cause celebre to be in the news during the 2022's. Of course, you never know.

I suspect that attempts to make him a poster boy after being acquitted will come from the left, not the right or KR himself.

In honesty some wings of the right have already been making him a poster boy.

I think based on my review of the evidence that he was well-intentioned but lacking in judgment overall, but that his actions were justified even if they were also avoidable in the grand scheme of things. I think he should be acquitted, but I agree that if he is fortunate enough to be acquitted on all counts, that he should do his absolute best to disappear and live a very quiet rest of his life being grateful he survived both the tactical and legal ordeal and trying very hard never to be anywhere trouble is reasonably foreseeable ever again. George Zimmerman should have done the same, but for a while there he couldn't keep his name out of the news, either.
