The absolute, no question, nicest DA trigger of any sort I've *ever* used was on a old, box-stock Python. Slick. Like olive oil on Teflon-coated black ice slick. On the other hand, sub-par Python triggers are just plain strange. Not outright crap like a Ruger Redhawk, but just WRONG in some different way.
S&W seems the most consistently good of the bunch.
Any revolver that shoots reliably, make doesn't matter!!!
I know, my signature line might lead you to believe that I'm a brand snob. Though I admit a preference for Smiths old and new (gotta love that entirely predictable 2-stage DA pull), I've got nothing against the other makes and would like to add others in the future, like a 2.75" Ruger Security Six, a Cimarron Model P or Uberti 1873 Cattleman in 45 Colt, and maybe a Colt Det Special one day. I used to own a Heritage Rough Rider and a Taurus M66 that were both excellent guns, but did not fit my needs so they were sold. I do miss the Heritage, selling it was stoopid.
I should probably add a 1911 of some kind while I'm at it .
