Put in the rear pivot pin, then slide the metal detent and spring in the small hole on the rear of the receiver. (can wait till last if installing a fixed stock)
Next place the buffer retaining pin and spring in the hole located where the threads on the rear of the receiver are.
Screw in the buffer tube untill it overlaps the buffer retaining pin. Give it a good twist in your hands or use a wrench. Use some molybdenum lube to prevent future seizing. Whatever lube you use make sure it LACKS carbon.
If you are installing a collapsible stock make sure you buy a good stock wrench. A cheapo will end up breaking or bending on you. Eventually that little "tit" will break off.
The only thing I would add is to just keep an eye on the rear dentent spring when you put the stock on the buffer tube and make sure it goes in straight. Also, don't forget your stock spacer with the A2 stock.
if'n yer upgrading to a collapsable stock
yer gonna need a carbine buffer assembly
(carbine buffer, spring, tele-stock buffer extension, and necessary hardware.)
