What is it with duck hunters?

The first time you are dive bombed by Teal, and miss them all, you'll be hooked.

Heh, a flock of six coming by minutes before shooting time, they sound like jets winging through. Nothing like it in the world. Early Teal starts in 2 days for us.

(I've heard dove are a type of; or related to pigeon.)
all doves are pigeons, and all pigeons are doves. certain species are more likely to be referred to by one name or the other, but either is accurate in all cases.

for instance, what is most commonly called a pigeon is the feral rock dove; in england, it's been renamed the rock pigeon.

Let's see:

I never really got into it: Cold, wet, tired, hungry, with a nose full of wet dog smell and that same wet dog trying to get warm and dry by making you cold and wet.

I sure do miss going out duck hunting with my Step Father-in-Law since he's passed away. :(

I essentially gave up hunting for Moose, Caribou and Bear to take up waterfowl hunting. Got tired of all the new regulations as to who or who couldn't hunt in a specific area.

There's nothing like watching a bunch of Mallards...

cupping their wings, getting ready to come in to you. There's also nothing like the first covey of Bobwhites in the fall. There's also nothing like watching doves flying right to you while you're hunkered down beside a fencerow. I think equal opportunity huntin' is the way to go. AND IT"S THAT TIME AGAIN!!!!
