**What is the best shotgun for firing bean bag or cork non lethal rounds?**

Just remember that bean bags etc,are Less Lethal, but not harmless. Use of same will be considered by the Gummint as Deadly Force, and will be judged under those parameters.

The dubious tactical merits of non lethal rounds aside, the payloads of non-lethal rounds are lighter than the usual standard rounds and as such are less likely to function in a semi-auto particularly a recoil operated Benelli. Therefore a pump gun is the way to go.

Any good pump will do. I have shot bean bags out of my 870 and they have proven remarkably accurate.

Check local laws before using. They are illegal in many states.:banghead:

SOme states: they can show preclusion before having to use deadly force. Make sure you know they laws in your state.

Also, cops only use less-lethal munitions when they have someone with a 'real' gun covering them. Who will be covering you?

Of course, if this is just for fun, game on. Any pump will do the trick. IIRC, it should probably be unchoked.

Like some of the previous posters, I'll put aside the issue of the general suitability of less lethal for personal use (although its a big, big if :scrutiny: ). As for choke, Def-tec says theirs is cool through improved cylinder, everyone else I have seen recommends cylinder.

haha! -- i didn't even think about chokes. that would really be bad if the bag got stuck in the barrel from a full or turkey choke...huh, would it really get stuck?

Sure a round could get stuck in an inappropriate barrel, thats another reason that less lethal rounds are specialized equipment that require both training and the right circumstances to deploy (like the aforementioned lethal cover). Less lethal uses stuff you wouldn't normally shoot out of a barrel, at fairly low velocities, and some of it has a huge fouling problem because the manufacturers use some kind of soft plastic wad (so subsequent rounds are much more likely to stick in a constricted barrel).
