I have a High Standard Sentinel DELUXE .22 L.R., 7RD.Rov. I know someone with a High Standard Sentinel .22 L.R. 7RD. Rov. The only thing that is different is the DELUXE & the reg.model that I can see is the Deluxe model is it has wooden grips. Any one know any other difference between the 2 guns? Sure would like to know. Thanks! @

The High Standard Sentinel was a 9 shot aluminum framed revolver. The regular model came with fixed sights and plastic grips. The Deluxe model also had fixed sights but had square butt walnut grips. The Sentinel Imperial had walnut grips and a ramp front sight along with an adjustable rear sight.

I'm not sure what the difference is between those models but if you have the chance to buy one in good condition at a fair price I'd snatch it up! They make excellent belt guns for woods walking/plinking.

The single action triggers are quite nice but the double action needed a few hundred pulls to smooth up. Most people don't know this but High Standard cut notches on the rear face of the cylinder so you could dry fire them without harm.

They were/are classically styled and some had grips that are best described as the Coke grips that Smith used, which felt great in the hand. Accuracy wise they were above normal at least the ones I owned.

There wasn't a cylinder release on the frame making the frame symmetrical and pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately the finish on the anodized parts wore rather quickly and distracted a bit from the overall appearance.

On Gunbroker they still show up ANIB for a reasonable price and are becoming quite collectable. I shot a used Sentinel many thousands of rounds as a kid and can attest to their durability first hand.

My 9-shot Sentinel Deluxe is from the 1970s, and sports plastic grips, not walnut. The main difference I can see is that it has the square-butt frame, shiny polished blue finish, and the rear sight is drift adjustable for windage. I wouldn't mind finding a nice set of walnut target grips for it, the 6" barrel shoots pretty well.

I would like to thank you for the information. I made a mistake, it is a 9rd.Rov. not a 7rd. as I stated in 1st. post. Sorry on cell Ph. .Like I said I compared it to standard model not much difference. I was able to get this one for $155 .It looks almost NIB, no wear around the muzzle or cylinder. I will probably use it for teaching grandkids to shoot revolvers or let one of the teenagers carry while hiking or fishing. There will be adults around for supervising. Thanks again. Is $155 a fair price for this handgun? Just wondering. Thanks
