I asked Montana Gold Bullets about their 125 gr FMJ Sig 357 bullets and how they were to be interpreted. i.e. Jacked, Plated, etc as no loading manual I have seen yet shows a load with this bullet. MGB does not have load data on their own and leaves that to the powder manufacturers. (as they should). However, they responded that the bullet is soft jacketed.
What is the difference between a loading manuals,"Jacketed".. and MGB's soft jacketed?

They are not plated I assume, they are not solid, not lead. I really don't know which way a load should be adjusted for this bullet. Any suggestions based on facts that a long time reloader might have?

I have used the Montana Gold 124 gr. JHP in 9mm using normal jacketed bullet loads. I have seen their bullets being used by shooters shooting 38 Super, 9mm Major and 40 S&W.

I have never heard the term in 50 years of reloading..

I also see they have .380 "yellow" bullets.
And I don't know what that means either?

It appears they are just making up bullet terms as they go along?

However, "soft jacket" could mean pure copper, as in plated, or copper jacketed?
Once you get them, if there is lead exposed on the base, they are jacketed.
If there is no lead exposed, they are plated.

Anyway, it really doesn't matter.

Since they are not lead, just consider them Jacketed for reloading data.

Start at the Start load, and work up until you are satisfied with the performance in your gun.
