I think that when it comes to these 2 calibers the first gun in my mind is the Colt Python for the 357 Magnum and the S&W mod 29 for the 44 Magnum.

IMHO these 2 revolvers are the quintessential iconic handguns for the 2 cartridges and made famous by Hollywood.

They are the symbol of the modern American revolver at its finest before the auto craze raged on.

So 357 Magnum = Colt Python and 44 Magnum = S&W 29....do you agree??

Comments and Opinions??

Regards

But I'll agree on the .44 Magnum, S&W 29"

Yeah,...what he said...+ 1 to ya, Ze......

Smith 27 (the original magnum) and the Smith 29 (the original 44 magnum), maybe because of Clint Eastwood????

.357 - Ruger speed six. First 357 i ever shot (and still own)

.44 S&W 629 - Because i want one so bad.

The snake in 357, Colt did it right though a 27 is a strong 2nd.
Dirty Harry's 44. the 29. The Anaconda was too short lived to bump it

Simply mentioning ".357 Magnum" evokes thoughts of the true .357, the first .357, the Smith and Wesson 357 Magnum, now the Model 27.

Same for the .44 Magnum. When I think .44 Magnum, the first picture in my head is of a S&W 29.

357Magnum = the FIRST gun that I learned to shoot using my late husband's gun. A Dan Wesson one. (I usually thought of Smith and Wesson the FIRST though.)

Also... the S&W Model 686 of mine when I first started to buy my own guns from May 1998 and on.

44Magnum = Our former S&W Model 29s in 29-2 and 29-3. DIRTY HARRY = my hero!

Marlin 1894, and Ruger Blackhawk, I know its not one, but that's what I think of...
but when it comes down to it..
GP100 for .357
BlackHawk for .44

what can I say?? I like Rugers

For me the Mod. 27 and 29, I'm to young to remember the registered Magnum.

Without doubt for me it was the first 357 magnum revolver I shot. A Taurus, not sure of the model number but It belonged to my brother-in-law and still does. Even his best efforts could not get me to pick that 4 inch barreled wrist breaker up again. And it was not the ammo nor my grip, he spent weeks with me showing me the proper methods and ergonomics. A few other people we know shot it and felt the same. The most common comment was that it was posessed.
