Mention magnum revolvers and I picture N-frame Smith and Wessons.
The first, for the .357, is grampy's old M-28/Highway Patrolman with 4" tube. (Not sure if it's a pre-model # or not.) Learned to shoot DA revolvers with that gun and .38 Specials.
For the .44s, it is the M-29/629. I have a 6" 629 sitting with me right now, and will probably take it to the range later today. The first handgun I bought for myself, and I don't think I could ever part with it.
Now, in the .357 I'd say the M-19 runs a close second, and I have always wanted one, even though the 686 is stronger.
