What is the lowest caliber you will carry

Go big, or go home. That's the best motto ever no matter what you are talking about. Your manhood is on the line and somehow you think waving your LCP around is going to get you some respect....

Now, if you are like me, and have a LCP that says Zombie Slayer on it, that's gonna command respect, even if it is a little gun.

Smallest for me is .32 or .380. That being said the pistol that goes with me everywhere, everyday, always is my Makarov in 9x18mm. I feel plenty comfortable with it. Seriously, it's ALWAYS on me.

Mind you, I carry Buffalo Bore HCFN 115 grainers in it. :D 8 rounds of that will do the job up close, no problem.

My wife loves her small J-Frame .38spcl +P. I feel safe with her carrying that.

.380 is what I carry daily, but I wouldn't feel unmanned carrying a .22 mag if I trained properly with it. I'm not a caliber crazed guy, training and shot placement matter far more.

9mm +p hp

I had a 380. It was easy to carry. Then I ran into 8/10 FTFs on a variety of different makes for it. Now I EDcarry a Glock 19 0r 23. or rarely a G21 in 45 auto.

HANK ("One of the best ways to stay safe is not to go looking for trouble . . . but if trouble finds me despite my best efforts, odds are I'll have either a .45, a 9mm, or a .357 on me. (The last is my "always" gun, an S&W 340Sc.) Choice depends on wardrobe.)

My father always adviced me to run away from a fight...but if they catch you...open the gates of hell and take them with you. I feel comfortable with a 22...but I carry a 1911.

A few years ago I would have said .38 Spc, but since .380s have become so popular there seems to be some really good rounds developed for that caliber. Still, .38 Spc without any qualms, and .380 with just a little trepidition.

While I have had a certain fascination with really small .22LRs and .25s, these days the smallest caliber I would carry would be a .380.

Somehow this turned into a 'what I carry' thread instead.

38. I'd probably feel fine with a 380 but I don't own one.

In most situations, I feel safe without a gun.

The "lowest" caliber I'd carry depended on my situation and intended application.

If I were on a lion hunt in Africa, my carry needs would be different than if I were on duty.

A well trained man with a 22lr, can do more damage than an untrained man with a 44 magnum.

I usually (85% of the time) carry .45 ACP, other than that it's .38 Special or 9mm Luger. I have carried my NAA mini with .22 WMR on rare occasions because that was all I could conceal.

I carried a G30(.45) for two years, then downsized to a G26(9mm).After two years of range and training I feel good with the 9mm.
