The only thing that I could guess would be an old British Fenton rifle. Those were originally flintlock though, so perhaps it was a percussion conversion?
Looks like a generic late Pennsylvania/Kentucky long rifle.
The "-enton" stamp on the lockplate is probably the manufacturer of the lock itself, not the whole gun.
Looks like a converted flinter to me. The patchbox will be the clue to the maker. You need to get in touch with the various long rifle associations and send a good picture of it.
