Hi,

I just got the NEW Pardner Pump Protector and I'm so excited.

Can someone tell me what this extra piece of hardware is? It came in the box.

It's my first shotgun, so I am trying to learn everything about it. I read the manual and didn't see anything in there about it.

Thank you,
Gene

ah, yes, I did read about being able to adjust that. Thank you!

Make sure your choke tubes are tight before and while shooting! Loosen them up 1/4 turn or so when you're done.

Barrels expand ever so slightly with heat, and choke tubes can get stuck. It's best to keep them loose, but shoot with them tight to avoid damage to threads.

The long extension on the right of the picture is probably to pop out the pins that hold in the trigger group. It should come out as a unit, and make cleaning really easy.

You cant adjust the choke on the protector model can you? Its just open, right.

Multitool, I'd say. Choke tube wrench, magazine cap wrench (a guess, there) plus a 'pin pusher' to get the receiver cross pins out, the ones holding in the trigger plate assembly.

With a hole, so you can put it on your keyring... :D

Just another small tip, get a small pack of spark plug antiseize from your local AutoZone auto parts store. This is used sparingly on the threads of the choke tubes, especially usefull if you don't change tubes a lot!

You can also just use some gun grease on the threads - keep the choke tight while inserted, take it out after shooting and clean it and the threads both inside the gun and on the tube
