I'm getting old, and need to save for retirement. This year I set a budget of $200/month. That covers gas, ammo, lunch, and range fee for a match at my local range. Any guns or gear beyond that, I'm financing by selling other stuff.
I'm not sticking to the $200/month very well. But I have been selling off more than I've been buying. I don't think I've spent more than what I've sold over the course of the year.
I realized I was focusing too much on stuff and not enough on experiences. It's fun to pull out a gun none of my friends have, but more fun to actually get out there and shoot.
