Usually enough for a couple boxes of ammo. Been tempted to get a red dot and 3x magnifier lately to try that out.

How much I spend depends on how much I win at the casino compared to how much gas the boat eats during summer. I have a lot more money in the winter than the summer, as long as the casino holds up their end. LOL

I'm getting old, and need to save for retirement. This year I set a budget of $200/month. That covers gas, ammo, lunch, and range fee for a match at my local range. Any guns or gear beyond that, I'm financing by selling other stuff.

I'm not sticking to the $200/month very well. But I have been selling off more than I've been buying. I don't think I've spent more than what I've sold over the course of the year.

I realized I was focusing too much on stuff and not enough on experiences. It's fun to pull out a gun none of my friends have, but more fun to actually get out there and shoot.

It's cool to have some interesting guns at home, but if the main gun friend at the gun club is pretty "lukewarm" about them, the guns' appealing qualities aren't really "shared" with anybody.

It can be like having the Mona Lisa and nobody else finds the painting very interesting.
I could have saved up a good while for a Sig 551 in ,223 (had I really wanted one), and no matter what character a gun has, most people would listen with a glazed 😐 stare and simply ask "Ok...can it hit a small target?"

Don't have a gun budget. They do not rule my life or finances. I buy what I need and use them, getting rid of them when they have no application. While others might enjoy collecting I think having unused guns in a safe is like dating a beautiful girl that you will never kiss.

To the of you who do have a budget and/or lots of guns - I say "enjoy" and I am happy that they bring you contentment and satisfaction.
