Where would you go? Who would you bring ( 4 Total)? What gun would you bring - guns you own only- ? Money is not realy an object; lets say you've saved for years for the trip and the license. Tell us a bit about your dream trip.

Heres mine - A moose trip to Alaska. I'd bring My Dad, Brother, and FIL. I'd take my .30-06. Whats yours, your trip of a lifetime? We all have one.

South Dakota in late October - pheasant, grouse and waterfowl.

I'd take my son, dad and one brother that hunts.

I'd take a Superposed and 870 Magnum Wingmaster.

I'd much rather spend big money on a long bird hunt than big game. Pheasants and good cover are pretty rare around here.

My dream hunt is a 5 day, self-guided Alaskan Caribou hunt. I would take both of my brothers with me. I would take probably 2 guns: My M70 in .300 WSM and my Savage 10 in .358 Win.

My Dream Hunt

Combo moose/grizzly hunt in remote Alaska, with my brother and two of my buddies. I'd take my .338 WinMag, and loan my 30-06 to my brother.

I was fortunate to shoot a moose and a wolf this Fall in Alaska, both with my .338 and both within about 45 minutes - mid afternoon, when I shot the wolf it must have woke the moose up! I looked down into the spruce and saw a large antler sticking up, and the rest is (yummy) history...

Here are pics of both, please bear with me....

Michael

South American dove hunt and I'd take my two brothers with me.

Guns? Browning stack barrels only. I've got a few to choose from. ;)

Wow, some exotic stuff here. :D For me, it's always been Alaska. I'd like to hunt moose and caribou. I never really had a desire to go after bears. I don't think I'd like the meat too much. Everyone says it's greasy. Moose and caribou have LOTS of meat and HUGE antlers. :D I'd have to build a new house to have high enough ceilings to put 'em on the walls, though.:uhoh: I'd take my Savage 110 in 7mm Rem Mag and take my Remington M7 in .308 for back up.

I'd love to dove hunt Argentina. From the vids I've seen of it, it's bird hunters paradise. I'd take my Winchester M1400 auto and my Mossberg 500 in case I got to shoot something big like geese that I needed a 3" 12 for. I might take my Spanish built side-by-side in case I got to shoot some flushing bird over dogs.

That Russian duck hunt does sound really neat, though.

I'd like to go to Alberta and do a Royal McNab: Shoot a big whitetail, shoot a pheasant or grouse, and catch a trout, but a nice mess of walleyes will do. Right now, I enjoy hunting by myself and don't care if I get anything. I'd shoot the moose with a Model 70 .300 H&H, the pheasant with my BSS, and the trout with my 5 wt. Sage. I've eaten big horned moose and would rather shoot a young meat bull.

If I could go back in time I'd like to be hunting pheasants, in the 60's, in NE Iowa, with my uncle, my day and my brother, and shooting my uncle's Model 12 Deluxe Field Gun.

Next fall, providing I get drawn, I'll be hunting antelope out of Jackson with one of my buds so that will be the dream trip. There are blue grouse but not sure about the trout, unless there is something in the Bonduarant. I'll be shooting a #1 .25/05 and Red Label 20 ga. No chance for a Royal, though.

the Alaska moose thing sounds pretty good. Brown bear would probably be the ultimate.

NM for a world class elk with a world class outfitter would be tough to beat

I'd use my Ruger M77 stainless .300 WM or maybe my Marlin 1895 45-70 with handloads.

1. Alaska
2. Hunting buddies totals 4 of us.
3. I would have to get a new gun, probably a rifle chambered in .475.

My dream trip would be Grizzly bear hunt in Alaska, we would fly in by float plane to the hunting area and then have a 6-8 day hunt (if it takes that long).

i want to go on a boar hunt with my father and take a medium sized piggie with a pistol and have him take one with his bow.

Sounds like my upcoming trip in February, except for the father part, he does not like to hunt.

yea my hunt is pretty modest honestly. He tells me you can get boar hunts for 300-500 dollars per person, which is actually pretty reasonable. Hopefully for my graduation present from college he and i will make it happen:)

I'd like to take my Dad out west on a good guided elk hunt before he gets too old to enjoy it. Preferably something with mountains and horses, since I know he'd get a kick out of that.

I suppose I'd take my husband and uncle, and since we're not ALLOWED  to make this an excuse to get a new gun...I guess that means the model 88 .308 that's the only appropriate centerfire I own.

I'm going to pull it off, too, sometime in the next five or six years.

African plains game (Kudu, Gemsbock, Wildebeast etc) with a couple of good friends. (One of them already has done this.)

.375 H&H for all game. CZ 550 American Safari Magnum would be my #1 choice, but I've heard time and time againthat 30-06 and 7mm mag are plenty.

Always dreamed of an Alaskan Grizz or Polar bear hunt with nothing more than a handgun (S&W 500)....eyeball to eyeball with a charging man eater to answer the nagging question, would I pee my pants & run like hell or stand my ground till one of us is dead.

I was going to say coveys of quail, miles and miles of coveys for days on end. But then there's that pic of the 300,000 mallards in Arkansas in 1956 that keeps running through my head...

Whale and seal shooting. In one of the scandinavian or russian regions that do it.I'd take a 375H&H and 12ga/50BMG wildcat.
Followed by brown bear.
With my brother.
Karl.

I would take two of my brother in laws and we would go to Africa after plains game. I would take my .30-06 Model 70.

My dream hunt? Caribou and Moose in AK. Maybe get a bear tag just in case I see a bruiser. Combined with salmon and halibut fishing. Then a trip to the appliance store for a much bigger deep freeze. I'd take my wife, not too sure who else, but I could certainly come up with a couple guys that would work. Gun would probably be my eventual CZ550 in 9.3x62 (I'm not sure I'd want to stick with the one I already have in 6.5x55 for a trip like this), unless I can finagle the Rem (?)721(?) .300H&H from my FIL. The Ruger Redhawk .44mag would come along as backup.

I wonder why everybody dreams about hunting moose. Even if you're lucky it's mostly a matter of very extensive butchering and back breaking hauling. Plus the black flies, skeeters, and the ever present threat of bear. All in overgrown and muggy boreal jungle with everything from devil's club to cow parsnip to make your life even more miserable. The actual shooting of the beast is as about as thrilling as shooting a cow, though finding a big bull can be a challenge. The meat is worth it, don't get me wrong. But it hardly seems like something you'd want to come here to do.

I guess a spring turkey hunt in sw ms with my brother , would be hard to beat, here lattly i have been wanting to go on a wild hog hunt with my 4 inch 44 magnum, csa

Kodiak Island bowhunting grizzlies.

White mountains, Arizona bowhunting trophy bull Elk (to which I havent been sucessful on the draw for the last 4 years)

Duck hunting with my step father (who introduced me to hunting in 1977) in Louisiana.

A good hog hunt with my dad. I would have to take the Ruger Redhawk 5.5" SS in .44 Mag for the ultimate thrill.
