What is your dream revolver?

I've always wanted a Colt Python with a 4" barrel in blue steel to be a companion to my S&W M19-3. I'd also like to buy back the S&W M66-1 I used to have. This M19 is probably my dream revolver. It's a "3T" model, target hammer (wide spur), target trigger (wide trigger) and target grips, which I still have, but put the rosewood grips on because they fit my hand better. It's had an action job (before I bought it) and is smooth as glass.

I won't say that I would necessarily have to own one...but I'd like to shoot a high end revolver like a Korth or a freedom arms.I'd like to see how they feel and how well I'd be able to shoot one.

I have 2 'dream' revolvers... one exists, one doesn't... not yet, anyway.

1) Dan Wesson .41MAG with 4" heavy vented barrel. They are out there, but the cost of admission is pretty high. I have a stainless DW .41 with a 6" barrel, so it's conceivable this wish can eventually come to fruition.

2) S&W L-frame .41SPC or .41MAG, 4" or 5" lugged barrel. I doubt this will ever come to be, however.

How about a 3" L frame like the model 69 but in 41 mag :)

The 69 is the vision model, but I'm not a big fan of 3" Magnums. You could probably make the argument for a 3" L-frame .41SPC, however.

I had a 3" Model 60 some years ago, it had a 3" full lugged barrel and was an excellent pistol... for the .38SPC. I would not want that pistol in .357, however.

I have a 3" model 686 357 mag and a Taurus model 415 2 1/2" 41 mag. I like short barrel mags for carry. I would like a 4" 41 mag L frame to!

I agree about the five shooter but it's doable. After all I own a few other revolvers so chambered. Might have forgotten to mention my dream Python would have a 3 inch barrel.

A five-shot Python would take some getting used to.
Like most any Charter in .44 I guess.

Now, while a Colt leaves me cold....
A *named* S&W 5 round .44 Special dedicated (NOT a cylinder or frame of length to accept Mag.) revolver like a Combat/Target Masterpeice or Combat Magnum would be the ticket for me.

Todd.

My dream revolver is more a range gun than anything unique or exotic like most guns mentioned here.
A six shot/adj sites/4.2-6" barreled 9mm, stainless would be ideal.
This is a close as I've come in my search, RIA AL 9.0, not even available yet:

:D

Yikes :what:
Priced this gun locally today, $499.00 :cuss:.
Way more than other rev's they sell, up there close to rugers/smiths

I've also read you get 2 moon clips with the gun and extras not sold anywhere.:scrutiny:
Ruger needs to make an SP101 Match Champion in 9mm :fire:
How hard would that be :uhoh: they already have a SP101 model in 9mm (5783)
Wake up Ruger...
:D

I have my dream revolver, a S&W 60-15 3" 357 Pro. It has been 100% reliable, very Shoots accurate (with replacement springs) and fits my hand like a glove (albeit with Hogue rubber grips replacing the wood ones)! Is easy on the hands with 38 +P loads and lighter 357 magnums like Winchester 110 gr JHPs. Dennis

I haven't waded through all of the many replies in this thread but I'm guessing I'm at least seconding a vote for a "dream" revolver-a Smith & Wesson "Registered Magnum".

I have two "dream revolvers." One is unobtainable and the other I own.

The impossible revolver is the MP-412 REX designed by IZHMEKH in Russia. It was to be a modern top-break revolver in .357 magnum. SA/DA action, adjustable sights and a steel frame with polymer grip frame. Unfortunately, the Clinton/Yelstin import ban killed it before it ever went into production. I've always love top-break revolvers. I modernized one just really tickles my fancy.

The one I actually own is an old High Standard double action, 9-shot .22 revolver. I learned to shoot on my Dad's High Standard and shot that pistol regularly until the frame broke in 1996. I really missed that old gun! Last year, my Dad found one in a pawn shop that was identical to the one he had all those years ago. He bought it and gave it to me as a Christmas gift! He even included the old holster from the original gun that he had held onto for over 20 years! It's not a fancy or collectible gun, but it is VERY special to me.

Thanks for showing the MP-412 REX, did not know it existed, or tried to exist... that would be very nice.. Did you ever hear a thought about what they would have cost... Man a 357 top break... Almost makes you want the throw the old Webley in a ditch.. almost..

Love the High Standard also.. Nice memories

I first saw the MP-412 REX in a gun magazine way back in the early 1990s. (My name is Rex, so of course it caught my eye, lol!) I don't recall seeing anything about expected pricing. Since the import ban killed it before it even got into production, I doubt there were ever very many samples made. I still want a reproduction top-break, but I'd sell many of my toys to get my hands on a modern interpretation of the design.

As long as I'm dreaming, here's what I'd build given the necessary resources and skills:
  • 10mm
  • top-break
  • steel sub-frame w/ polymer interchangeable grip section
  • barrel at 6 o'clock (like the Chiappa Rhino)
  • striker fired with a smooth, long double action trigger (like a Kahr)
  • RMR type dot sight

Not trying to be a butt.. 1st that new Webley is like a Fantasy come to life, So nice, cool caliber, so new.. But the Price (10k) come one, I know each of us has a jelly spot.. and God knows I love jelly.. But that price is so high you could get a 3 semi Belt Feds and an original unshaved Webley Mk VI, Or you can get a nice full sized Gatling gun with a Belt Fed and an original unshaved Webley Mk VI with some money left over..

Also on an aside, I think it stinks how when you go to the website of this British Company selling a British iconic firearm and I have to acknowledge before I can see any thing that UK citizens can not own one of these.. That just stinks.. Poor Brits...
