I no longer care. My best dog ever had to be put down and what is relevant has suddenly changed.

Condolences on the passing. Our furry companions bring so much and their leaving us hurts.

The material stuff for me changed as well the past 10 years. Changing values that I want less mental inventory to juggle. Applying a certain level of minimalism thoughts to cleaning up the years of accumulation.

Still trying to find a replacement for the kindjal that was stolen by our friendly neighborhood 14-year-old crystal meth dealer.
I couldn't find out what he did with it because he killed himself while in police custody after shooting at my grandmother's house.
The nearest duplicate that I've found so far is this:

It's a bit spendy at almost $400.00, but I'm still deciding.
The only picture that I've found of my great-grandfather showed him wearing one of these... .

How about this one? Not exactly the same but it's still a kindjal.

I've looked at those - but, no.
Those might as well have "Souvenir of The Ukraine" stamped on them - in English.
Great-grandpa was apparently a member of the Czar's Imperial Guard - a 6'-8", 400 pound meat shield who had to run for the U.S. after having a bit of a misunderstanding with a pack of Cossacks. Family tradition has it that he took a kindjal off of one of the corpses before sneaking onto a cattle boat bound for San Francisco.
My missing kindjal wasn't like his, but I wouldn't want to dishonor his memory with a cheap copy.

Wow. Well I’ll write that one off then.

The wait times have gotten weird at CRK. They just updated them and somehow they went from 2-6 months to 2-6 years on just about everything. But they don't prioritize individual direct sales, so their dealers will be getting shipments constantly as well. If I were actively hunting a normal CRK, I'd expect to get it within a month or two just from watching dealers. The only thing I'm thinking will be real rare for a while will be Magnacut blades.
