I believe I will get a document from the FFL when I give the gun to them for selling.
but I don't know what kind of information will show on the document , the gun S/N # or buyer name ? so I think that I create a sales contract will be better , should I do that?
Thanks.

You should get a receipt for the gun. That’s it.
Does the receipt prove that the gun was sold to a buyer or only prove that FFL received the gun? I need to use it to remove the record from my gun list in MD police department.

You should get a receipt when you deliver it to the dealer who has to enter it into his bound book. A "sold" notation when it is sold on the receipt is customary.
I know that here, if you redeem it if not sold, you do a background check.

I'll imagine that Maryland FFL will be experienced in generating both the kind, and the quantity, of receipts required.

You are unlikely to be the first person to need to "remove" an item off the MD list. So, the FFL may very well make you a duplicate copy to give to the PD.

Much of it will be down to the "how" the specific FFL handles their own records.

No longer familiar with MD law, but the assumption would be that, as long as it is on consignment, it will remain on your records until it is actually sold. The FFL will enter it in his bound book but, as long as it is on consignment, you can reclaim it at any time before it is sold. It would be a different case if you were actually selling it to the FFL.

While the high road will always be my #1 squeeze for Maryland specific questions you should check out www.mdshooters.com it’s a Maryland specific forum.

lots of MD FFLs on there also.

someone here suggested it to me when I was getting my MD wear and carry, it was a great resource.
