Recently I bought a used Bushmaster XM-15 and got a metal mag with it. The mag is steel, like the British SAR-80 mags, but is 20-round size, with a curve about where the SAR-80 30-round mags begin curving. Is this a British mag or something else?

And, does anyone know where to get more of them?

Thanks.

If it's blued steel, then it's probably a USA or Triple K brand. You'll be fortunate if nobody tells you where you can find more.

If it is USA and it works 100%, buy a lottery ticket and don't worry about looking both ways before crossing the street.

Ummm....

I have some USA mags and this is NOT a USA brand. Unless they have come up tremendously in their quality. I do not know about Triple K, have never seen one that I know of.

It really does look like a short SAR-80 mag.

I've seen ads for the british surplus magazines for the ar-15 / m-16, they are made of steel, and were originally manufactured for some new bristish bullpup I think. Dillon was advertising them in their last catalog, and Midway had them on sale.

The above is a 30 rounder but I think I saw 20s advertised a while back

I think thats what you have.

Is this what you were looking at?

DPMS sells them for LE only until next September. I believe they make a version that's 10 round only that Bushmaster sells with their new rifles. Maybe that's aluminum though? Here it is:

And sells from this page: http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/magazines/8448670-10.asp

One more from Bushy, and this one's their neutered steel one:
