What magazines are the most difficult to load?

Any kind of double column/single feed pistol mag is a bear to load.

The easiset would have to be a 15 round M1 Carbine mag.

I have to say Ruger Mk II as well. My thumb felt like one great big papercut, I think there was a burr on the slide button.

My CZ75 Compact gets fairly tight on the last 2 of 10 rounds, but that's because I have a bad habit of loading 5 rounds at the range (one for each of the 5-spot targets I like).

My walther P22's mag is *so nice* because of the big button and light spring, rounds fit in so easily I have to rattle the mag sometimes because I let it get loose and one sits in cockeyed :)

Worst reloading ever? My brother's heritage SAA knockoff in .22lr. Fire your rounds, half cock, open the gate, punt the old round out, click, punt, click, punt..... click, drop in a fresh round, click, drop, click, drop.... all the while hoping the damn thing doesn't lock up out of time (which it's done) or snag the ejector rod (which it's also done). Sweet shooter though, made it worth it :)

I use an HKS mag loader for my Mk II mags and it works well. It's probably not really correct to call it a loader...it's just a small loop of plastic that slides over the mag and gives you a larger space for your thumb. It actually has an extension that locks the piece to the bottom of the mag so you can just drop the rounds in without holding the spring. However, I cut that piece off as I felt it is more trouble than it was worth. I use a similar loader for my S&W M41 mags as well.

Those that complained about Glock...don't you use the mag loader? I never have any trouble loading my mags.

The worst I've ever seen was on a rental 9mm Oly AR. My friends and I took turns beating up our fingers, and I don't think we ever got more than 20 rounds in that 32 round modified Sten magazine.

Hardest I think is the Glock 10 rounders. Frigging obsessive compulsive Austrian engineers! The French would have just made a normal magazine and included a hardwood stick to block it down to 10 rounds. Americans would have put in a follower with a long tail on it.

Oleg, I don't know what your problem is with the UZI 32s unless you are using those Argentine magazines which are really designed for the semiauto carbine. I have a few of them in my magazine graveyard in case I ever get a carbine. :(

Use original IMI or South African mags. You need to cough up the three or four bucks to buy one of those little metal Uzi loaders. It pushes down on the cartridges so you can slide the next one in. And don't ever load 30 rounds. A lot of Uzis won't feed properly for any more an 18 on the 20 rounders and 30 on the 32 rounders (unless you have a semiauto or a NFA bolt gun which has the semiauto style barrel and feed ramp.)
