I've been looking at a lot of handguns lately and noticed where they were made. It got me wondering, which ones are designed, manufactured, and assembled in the US. Which companies are in the US, but manufacture their products elsewhere? and visa versa?

Here are the 2005 BATF stats on rifle, pistol and revolver production in the U.S. It does not include foreign manufacturers. You will see Beretta on the list as they produce some of their pistols here vs. Italy. Glock is on the list but shows only 1,100 pistols produced here in 2005. Perhaps that was a special order produced here. The rest were made in Austria.

Some manufacturers are listed by the name of their holding company. For example Beemiller is Hi-Point.

Some Glock frames are now made in GA. Ruger is 100% American made. I would also guess that S&W autos are too.

Semi Autos: Ruger, Colt, S&W, NAA, Seecamp, Kahr, Walther, Hi-Point, Beretta, SIG(P245??), Wilson, Les Baer, Ed Brown, Kimber

Revolvers: Ruger, Colt, S&W, NAA, Charter Arms
