Classical, Opera, Jazz, Blues, some Gospel and Christian, and occassionally I get a hankerin' for Country & Western.

Most of the time my radio stays on the local Classical station.

Although I enjoy classical and chamber music, I truly love Da Blooze and southern rock. I'm talkin' BB, Allman Brothers (with Duane), Muddy, old Charlie Daniels, ZZ Top ('Fandango' old), Robert Johnson, Ry Cooder, Howlin' Wolf, good Gawd ahmighty! I'm headin' for my turntable and cd player!
Statesboro Blues comin' right up...

Biker

Im a teen of the 80's so thats my favorite stuff, plus that era club music. i also like big band, american roots music, real jazz music, you know , that came out after ww2 up through the 60's, rock , classic rock, alt rock, metal, blues,Philly soul, heck any soul music out of the Al green era. Old school country , that came out in the 40's and 50's , following on the heels of the roots music is fine. Don't remember who said it , but roots music, and old school country is just white boys blues , is all. They were right.
anything but rap, or so called soul music as they call it now, or modern country. i do have one exception to the rap rule however, all old nwa or geto boys is very fine with me, and i'm not saying geto boys just because they are from Houston. The geto boys album Resurrection with the freestyle song, "bring it on" , is the best rap song ever, period.

Not too many "Bands" that I like anymore. Now it's mostly about individual songs. I play guitar and grew up listening to VH, Aerosmith, Kiss etc. Mostly hard rock stuff. I also love Motown, Soul and Blues.

80's Metal, Dio, Dokken, Black Sabbath, WASP, to Country, to bluegrass and some of the better 40's big band swing stuff. I'm so weird....
No rap, thank you

Hmm....I am more or less with Biker on this one, but to add Lightnin' Hopkins and some very selected metal (Iced Earth, Blind Guardian good old Iron Maiden).

'Da blues keeps the demons at bay, the metal just feeds them:evil:

Let's make it firearms related:

The Rifles of the IRA.

In nineteen hundred and sixteen
The forces of the crown,
For to take Orange, White, and Green
Bombarded Dublin Town

But in '21, Britannia's sons
Were forced earn their pay, when
The black and tans, like lightening ran
From the Rifles of the IRA!

They burned their way through Munster,
Then laid Leinster on the rack.
Through Connaught, and through Ulster
Marched the men in brown and black.

They shot down wives and children
In their own "heroic" way, but
The black and tans, like lightening ran
From the Rifles of the IRA!

They hanged young Kevin Barry high
Just a lad of eighteen years
Cork City's flames lit up in the sky
But our brave lads new no fear

The Cork brigade with hand-grenades
In ambush wait and lay, and
The black and tans, like lightening ran
From the Rifles of the IRA!

The tans were got, taken out and shot
By a brave and valiant few
Sean Treacy, Dinny Lacey,
And Tom Barry's gallant crew

Though we're not free yet,
We won't forget,
Until our dying day, how
The black and tans, like lightening ran
From the Rifles of the IRA!

In the CD changer at this second:
Weekend Players (dance/chill)
DnB mixtape (hardcore techno)
Foo Fighters (rock)
The Edinburgh Tattoo (military bagpipes)
Beanie Seagal (rap)
Pharrell (hiphop/rap)

Gotta agree with Old 4x4, 80's and some 90's metal ruled the world! From Metallica, Iron Maiden, Zebra, GWAR, Judas Priest, Armored Saint..... The stuff that's out now has a hard time comparing. I look at it like this, if it ain't hard I usually don't listen to it. That doesn't mean that hard and fast = good, I don't care for the first link posted. Anyone can growl into a mic, let's hear your real voice.:p

Ethereal European Space Rock.

My wife doesn't appreciate it when I listen to KMFDM 'cause it amps me up and makes me want to drive over/through stuff that ought not be driven over/through.

I like the band that this guy plays with... can anyone tell me who they are? ;) seen 'em almost 20 times.

Though in the minority here, I also enjoy some jambands, mainly those who do not have an offensive anti-American message. I do like the Grateful Dead, SCI, MOE, Umphrey's McGee, etc. I do not like Michael Franti.

This makes concert-going a challenge because this kind of music has a large following of hippies. I am only in it for the music, because modern popular music is... well... of questionable quality. I don't agree with the politics or participate in the scene.

almost anything

Country- to many to name but Aarron Tippin, Alabama, Josh Turner just to name a few

Rock- Non-point, Drowning Pool

Rap- T.I., Yung Joc, Fat Joe and many more

Those are the big three someother tips are bluegrass, christian, alternative, Punk, R&B, and a couple others
