I bought a stullersonic ultrasonic cleaner from a re-builder (warranty shop) and used MPRO7 in it to clean a few full guns like my S&W 41 and K22 masterpiece. I took the grips off and filled up the take with MPRO7 (although I need to get more. This thing takes 1.5 gallons!) and let them have it for 15 minutes.
I was shocked at how clean they were. Amazingly clean. Nearly antiseptic clean! Parts I had never really noticed before were clean because every spec of old oil and gun was gone off them. I did notice you have to brush them part of the time to get the soft stuff off, but the rest of it. Spotless.
So I have read some safety stuff like don't put your fingers in it and I don't intend on running anything other then MPRO7 which is my standard.
But, It occurred to me that while handling the gun, it was absolutely stripped of oil. I really need to dunk it in oil some way to lube the interior as I have removed all of that oil.
What do you do or what is that next step after you have it really clean from the ultrasonic, what next?
Thanks!
