I have been wondering for a time about who to vote for. Like many of us here at THR, I tend to like some of the things the Libertarians stand for, but I don't quite see eye-to-eye on their positions on the neviroment or immigration. I generally dislike the Democrats, and I am very leary of the Republicans.
Today I got to thinking about whether it would be possible to steer the Republican party more towards a moderate, more Libetarian mindset. I am not a fan of the far right, the ultra-conservatives, or the radical religious folks of the Republican party, but I think that in general, the party seems to be the best chance at holding the Dems at bay.
Does anyone else think that it may be possible to combine the Republican and Libertarian parties/platforms to make something that might reasonably resemble a functionable political party?
