I only have a dozen or so traditional books, Kunhausen's 1911 / S&W revolver etc.
I keep these in my man cave room in the house where they are preserved in an air conditioned situation.
I find books are heavy, take up a lot of space, hard to transport, sit in one place a long time
before being used, even glossy book paper deteriorates over many years; many references are obsolete by the time they get printed. Not many new present day gunsmithing "books". My "library" is digital documents, photos, build projects, fabricated / modified tools, videos e.g. Tubal Cain Machine Shop & Art Isacsson Browning series. I can use the references at the bench on laptop or ipad with magnification to view parts / fine prints as well as "search" function by keywords.
My library has 44,000+ files / folders! that get backed up each week with the rest of the laptop items. The entire "library" can be transferred to a thumb drive, placed in pocket and taken to friends house for on-site use.
Here's a list of the beginning references "A" and the last part "Z" of the index with just some of the Gunsmithing items in between.
