Hello,

I'm interested in information on the Ruger 10/22 rifle. I know it is supposed to fire .22lr rounds, but can this weapon fire different forms of .22 rounds?

Thanks

The 10/22 in caliber .22LR is designed only for .22 Long Rifle rounds. There is or at least was a .22 Magnum version but these are two different guns and cannot interchange ammo between them.

As for what .22LR ammo the 10/22 can shoot, pretty much anything you can stuff in it.

Chris

I have also seen conversion kits with magazines that let you shoot 22 Shorts in these, as well as .17-calibre barrels that let you switch from .22 to .17 Mach II.

I think with the 10/22, the better question is what can a ruger 10/22 not shoot? Having a match chamber in an aftermarket barrel can prevent you from shooting CCI Stingers.

I shoot .22 shorts for pest control. With a little holdover it is VERY accurate out to 50 yards, and makes less noise than a beer fart.:p
